Perez wint rechtszaak van voormalig sponsor

Sergio Perez stond in het begin van zijn Formule 1-dagen bekend als een echte pay driver. De Mexicaan bracht (en brengt) veel sponsorcentjes mee uit zijn thuisland. Inmiddels weet iedereen dat Perez veel beter is dan de gemiddelde pay driver.

Niet alle sponsors zijn Perez altijd even trouw gebleven. Sommigen zijn al heel lang te zien op de bedrijfskleding van de Mexicaan en andere zijn weer vertrokken. Het bedrijf MGI Asistencia Integral was een van de sponsors van Perez maar de twee raakten in onmin met elkaar.

Perez spande in 2019 een rechtszaak tegen het bedrijf aan. Nu is het enkele jaren later en is de uitslag van de rechtszaak daar. Perez heeft aan het langste eind getrokken en moet van de rechter ongeveer omgerekend 2,4 miljoen euro ontvangen van het bedrijf, meldt de lokale krant Reforma. Waar de successen eventjes uitblijven op de baan wint Perez nu wel in de rechtbank.
