Daniel Ricciardo: "Grote kans dat ik in Silverstone voor HRT race"

De kans is groot dat Daniel Ricciardo volgend weekend zijn debuut gaat maken in de Formule 1. De testrijder van Scuderia Toro Rosso vertelde vanavond tegenover GPUpdate.net dat er vergevorderde plannen zijn om het stoeltje van Narain Karthikeyan over te nemen bij Hispania Racing.

Vanochtend doken de eerste geruchten op dat Ricciardo dit jaar al zijn Formule 1-debuut kan maken. De Australiër zou de vervanger worden voor Karthikeyan bij achterhoedeteam HRT. Vanavond vertelde Ricciardo is een gesprek met GPUpdate.net het volgende: "Het is nog niet 100% zeker, maar er is zeker een erg grote kans det het gaat gebeuren."

"Ik werd erover geïnformeerd dat men ermee bezig is en dat het kan gaan gebeuren. Ik hoop zelf natuurlijk dat ik mijn debuut in Silverstone kan gaan maken. Het ziet er allemaal positief uit, dus ik blijf er nogal rustig onder. Het plan zou dan zijn om de rest van het seizoen bij HRT te racen en dat te combineren met mijn programma in de World Series. Hierdoor kan ik wat meer ervaring opdoen, al zal het wel een druk einde van mijn seizoen worden", aldus Ricciardo.
