Verstappen trekt geen conclusies na Turkije: "Ik geloof niet in wisseling van momentum"

Aankomend weekend gaat Max Verstappen weer onverminderd hard verder met zijn kampioensduel met Lewis Hamilton. De Nederlandse Red Bull-piloot zal zijn jacht vervolgen in Austin op het Circuit Of The Americas (COTA), een plek waar hij in het verleden vaker succesvol was.

Verstappen heeft dan ook zin in de Amerikaanse Grand Prix. De Limburger kijkt vooruit op zijn website: "Het is mooi om weer in Amerika te zijn. We zijn altijd competitief geweest in de Verenigde Staten en hebben goede resultaten behaald. Dus het gaat erom dat nu om te zetten in een overwinning. We gaan nu naar elk circuit wetende dat we kunnen strijden voor een podium, maar ook voor een overwinning en dat is anders dan in voorgaande jaren."

In Turkije kwamen de Red Bulls over duidelijk te kort ten opzichte van de Mercedessen. Verstappen wil hier geen verdere conclusies aan verbinden: "Ik geloof niet echt in wisselingen van momentum. We moeten altijd elk aspect van het weekend juist hebben om onze prestaties te optimaliseren, ons zo goed mogelijk voorbereiden en als we dat doen kunnen we als team niet meer geven. We hebben een zeer competitieve auto maar je moet hem vergelijken met Mercedes en dat is altijd het grote vraagteken bij elke race dit seizoen."

MB was in Turkije wel sterk maar zaak is dat Ham minder punten scoorde dan zijn directe concurrent. Als dit scenario zich nog eens voordoet in the US dan is dat weer eentje gewonnen. :-D

De weersomstandigheden zijn sinds lange tijd weer eens normaal.
Alle dagen rond de 30 graden, en droog…..
Benieuwd of RBR nu wel competitief is, en Turkije een misser was.

  Die 30 graden kunnen voor Mercedes slecht nieuws zijn. Mochten ze de PU volledig willen opendraaien, gaat koeling voor een probleem zorgen met die zwarte wagen.
