Derde Amerikaanse GP geen probleem voor Alonso: "Laten we het stap voor stap bekijken"

Aankomend weekend zet het Formule 1-circus weer voet op Amerikaanse bodem. Volgend seizoen gaat dat zelfs twee keer gebeuren dankzij de komst van Miami. Mogelijk brengt de toekomst nog meer Grands Prix op Amerikaanse bodem, Fernando Alonso juicht het toe.

Al geruime tijd gonst het van de geruchten als het gaat om een derde race in de States. De roddels richten zich vooral op races in Las Vegas en Indianapolis. Sterker nog Roger Penske ,de eigenaar van de Indianapolis Motor Speedway, zou al een keertje hebben gebabbeld met Formule 1-CEO Stefano Domenicali.

Las Vegas

De Las Vegas-geruchten zijn nogal ambitieus van aard. Hier zou men azen op een race op een stratencircuit door het gokparadijs. De baan zou dan moeten leiden over onder andere de wereldberoemde strip. Het zou een comeback naar de gokstad betekenen want in de jaren 80 reed de koningsklasse al twee keer een race op het parkeerterrein van Caesars Palace Hotel.

Alonso

Fernando Alonso vindt het in ieder geval een top plan. In gesprek met Motorsport.com laat hij zich uit: "Ik denk het wel, ik heb er geen moeite mee. De VS is op dit moment ,met Liberty Media aan de kop, het voornaamste target van de Formule 1. Er gaan geruchten over meerdere locaties dus laten we het stap voor stap bekijken. Laten we volgend jaar maar eerst een goede Grand Prix in Miami neerzetten."

doe dan laguna, Ik zou die wagens wel eens over die heuvel willen zien vliegen. dat gaat pas een link bochtje worden met een F1 wagen.

1 GP is genoeg in de VS, F1 heeft niets te zoeken in de VS, en zeker geen 3 GB's in een land waar de F1 nooit een groot succes zal worden.

  Tsja, en wat hebben ze te zoeken in Saudi Arabië, Qatar, Bahrein...
  Wordt dan wel een dunne kalender.
  Ik vind een paar races in USA prima, heb ik zondag overdag tijd voor andere dingen en ga ik het weekend uit met een F1 race. Ik vind het prima.
