Ecclestone geniet weer van de Formule 1: "Ik kijk weer naar alle trainingen en races"

Bernie Ecclestone was jarenlang de grote meneer van de Formule 1. Sinds de overname door Liberty Media is hij echter minder betrokken bij de sport. De afgelopen jaren vond hij het ook minder leuk geworden, het was te voorspelbaar. Maar nu is alles anders en zit de Brit weer gespannen voor de buis.

De titelstrijd is dit jaar zeer intens. Max Verstappen en Lewis Hamilton bestrijden elkaar met het mes tussen de tanden. Momenteel gaat Max Verstappen aan de leiding van het kampioenschap maar Hamilton heeft slechts enkele punten minder dan de Red Bull-coureur.

Spannend

Ecclestone geniet met volle teugen van het onvoorspelbare duel. Tegenover Reuters spreekt hij zich uit: "Het was altijd Lewis die de pole pakte en daarna van start tot finish aan kop reed. Dat vond niemand spannend. Nu kijk ik juist weer graag naar alle trainingen en natuurlijk ook naar alle races."

Roulette

De oude Brit durft dan ook niet te voorspellen wie er met de titel vandoor gaat. Ecclestone: "Als je mij nu vertelt dat ik mijn huis moet inzetten op wie er wereldkampioen gaat worden, dan zou ik waarschijnlijk roulette gaan spelen. Dit omdat het echt nog alle kanten op kan gaan."

Rimmer

Max rijdt het hele seizoen al extreem geconcentreerd en foutloos. Hij verloor uitsluitend punten door pech buiten zijn schuld om. In Monza waren beide schuldig.
Lewis rijdt dit jaar verre van foutloos en lijkt niet altijd even geconcentreerd.

    Precies. Los van de akkefietjes, die ook stiekem wat kleine schoonheid hebben, is het een spannend seizoen.
    Een Hamilton (of Michael destijds) die na 12 races eigenlijk het kampioenschap min of meer heeft beslist is toch niet om aan te zien?

      dit jaar lijkt eigenlijk heel veel op het jaar 2005, en dan zeg maar Max in de Alonso rol en Lewis in de schumacher rol.

      aha ja. ik dacht dat het 2005 was. maar die 2 rijders vergelijk ik altijd met elkaar. toen was alonso in die jaren nog de uitdager. 2005 en 2006.

    Er is geen enkele reden om aan te nemen dat Max nu opeens niet meer voor P1 en P2 zou rijden.
    Normaliter zal hij dan ook steeds meer afstand gaan nemen en hij is dan ook de enige die de titel verdiend.
    Als de titel toch naar Lewis gaat dan is het puur geluk of wederom door rammen.
    Op consistentie, focus en inzet gaat Lewis het niet winnen. De auto’s zijn vrijwel gelijk in dit stadium en puur op individuele prestaties doet Max het gewoon beter.

      ja nee ok, ik zie wat je bedoeld, ik snap je punt, maar ik ga er gewoon niet helemaal in mee in jouw hosanna geroep, jij denkt van ik ga hier een Max reclame praatje houden en Pete slikt het allemaal wel als zoete koek, maar zo is het godver niet hé makker, zo zijn we niet getrouwd, we zijn sowieso niet getrouwd, maar als we getrouwd waren, dan ZEKER NIET op die manier, nee, gewoon NEE
