Perez weet zijn plek: "Belangrijk voor iedereen om beide titels te pakken"

Sergio Perez liet de afgelopen paar races zien nog heel wat in zijn mars te hebben. De Mexicaanse Red Bull-coureur reed drie keer op rij naar het podium en liet zien een goede wingman te zijn voor Max Verstappen. Perez kan zomaar een grote rol gaan spelen in de titelstrijd.

De Mexicaan ziet het helpen van Verstappen zelf ook als zijn belangrijkste taak. Tegenover Sky Sports spreekt hij zich uit: "Ik denk dat dit nu mijn werk is. Ik probeer Max te helpen en te supporten zoals een goede teamplayer dat moet doen. Het is belangrijk voor iedereen om er voor te zorgen dat we beide titels pakken. Dat is het ideale resultaat voor mij."

Perez mag die strijd voortzetten in Brazilië. Daar is de Red Bull-coureur best wel blij mee want hij geniet intens van de vele duizenden enthousiaste Brazilianen langs het circuit: "Het is prachtig. De atmosfeer hier is erg speciaal, het is echt uniek. We hebben hier zoveel fans en zoveel support. Het is heel erg vermakelijk om hier te zijn."
