Ferrari laat Mercedes en Red Bull achter zich bij pitstops

De snelste pitstop van de Braziliaanse Grand Prix is naar een verassende naam gegaan. Niet Red Bull of Mercedes maar Ferrari wisselde het snelst de banden van hun coureur. Charles Leclerc zag dat zijn pitcrew zijn bolide in 2,21 seconde voorzag van nieuwe rubbertjes.

Red Bull was ook weer snel snel op Interlagos. Max Verstappen kon na 2,39 seconden zijn weg weer vervolgen. Overigens heeft het Oostenrijkse team de Fastest Pitstop Award al lang en breed binnen. Hier hebben ze concurrent Mercedes dus al verslagen.

De ploeg van regerend wereldkampioen Lewis Hamilton deed het overigens ook niet slecht in Brazilië. Hamilton kon na 2,36 seconden weer verder rijden. Opvallend genoeg wist Mercedes dit twee keer voor elkaar te krijgen bij allebei de stops van Hamilton. Hiermee was Mercedes sneller dan Red Bull maar het is voor de eer, de Oostenrijkse renstal is immers al de beste van het jaar.
