Giovinazzi wil niets weten van woorden Vasseur: "Denk dat mijn houding altijd professioneel is geweest"

Deze week kreeg Antonio Giovinazzi te horen dat hij aankomend seizoen geen Formule 1-coureur meer is. De Italiaan is bezig met zijn laatste dagen als Alfa Romeo-coureur. Die dagen laat Giovinazzi niet rustig voorbij gaan want hij reageerde zeer fel op Twitter op zijn vertrek.

Zijn teambaas Frédéric Vasseur was niet bepaald te spreken over die houding maar dat maakt Giovinazzi niet zoveel uit. Hij wordt geciteerd door Gazzetta dello Sport: "Ik denk dat mijn houding altijd professioneel is geweest. Ik heb nog niet met Vasseur gesproken. Maar ik denk dat ik mijzelf nergens schuldig voor hoef te voelen."

Giovinazzi vertrekt naar de Formule E maar blijft wel verbonden aan Ferrari. Hij kijkt dan ook vast naar de toekomst: "We gaan zien of er een kans is om terug te keren in 2023. Ik ben nog steeds een Ferrari-coureur en we bespreken opties voor volgend jaar. Ferrari gaat in het WEC rijden in 2023 maar er is nog geen nieuws over. Ik weet zeker dat ik ga genieten van de Formule E. Maar ik wil mijn partnerschap met Ferrari in 2022 behouden."
