Red Bull Racing verslaat concurrentie in de pitstraat

Lewis Hamilton versloeg grote concurrent Max Verstappen na een verhitte strijd in de straten van het Saoedische Jeddah. De Brit kwam op gelijke hoogte met zijn concurrent Verstappen in de WK-stand. Zijn team Mercedes pakte ook veel punten en lijkt op weg naar de constructeurstitel.

Maar op één punt kan Mercedes grote concurrent Red Bull Racing niet meer verslaan. Red Bull is namelijk allang en breed de beste op het gebied van de pitstops. Ze hebben de Pit Stop Award namelijk al binnen, ook in Saoedi-Arabië waren ze weer onverslaanbaar.

De pitcrew van Red Bull wisselde de banden van Sergio Perez in 2,2 seconden en was daarmee veel sneller dan de concurrentie. Ferrari kwam nog het dichtst in de beurt bij de Oostenrijkse formatie en voorzag Charles Leclerc binnen 2,48 van nieuwe Pirelli's. Red Bull kon niet nog een snelle stop uitvoeren want Max Verstappen wisselde onder de eerste rode vlag van banden.
