Norris heeft truc om Leclerc achter zich te houden: "Ik ga hem een brake-test geven"

Voor de vijfde plaats in het kampioenschap strijden Charles Leclerc en Lando Norris. De Ferrari-coureur is momenteel in het voordeel met 4 punten voorsprong op de McLaren van Norris, maar de Brit wil er alles aan doen om die vijfde plaats te pakken.

De focus van het Abu Dhabi Grand Prix-weekend is ongetwijfeld het titelgevecht tussen Lewis Hamilton en Max Verstappen dat de laatste races al tot het uiterste is gegaan. Andere coureurs hebben ondanks dat ze niet vechten voor de titel hun eigen gevechten en doelen voor hun seizoen, twee daarvan zijn Charles Leclerc en Lando Norris die momenteel vijfde en zesde staan.

De jonge Brit kende een goede start maar is enkele races geleden wat zelfvertrouwen en concentratie verloren. Sindsdien is teamgenoot Daniel Ricciardo vaak sneller. Norris hoopt het seizoen toch goed te kunnen afsluiten: “Ik kijk uit naar Abu Dhabi na een teleurstellend weekend in Saoedi-Arabië. Ik denk dat we veel meer verdienden en hopelijk keert dat geluk dit weekend."

Straf bij brake-test

Tijdens de persconferentie voorafgaand aan de race werd aan Norris en Leclerc gevraagd hoe ze van plan zijn hun laatste gevecht dit weekend aan te pakken. Grappenmaker Norris had daar wel een antwoord op: "Ik ga Charles een brake-test geven, want je krijgt toch maar 10 seconden tijdstraf!"

Dat was de manier van de Brit om zijn mening te geven over de crash van de vorige race tussen Hamilton en Verstappen, waarbij zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Hamilton achterop de Red Bull van Verstappen crashte en de Nederlander na de race alsnog 10 seconden straf voor kreeg.

Norris wilde echter niet serieus ingaan op het incident: "No comment." Zijn collega Leclerc is echter van mening dat het aan Max ligt: "Hij is over de limiet gegaan."

  Wat nog slapper is er zogenaamd een grap over maken waarin je dus je mening geeft en er als er dan doorgevraagd wordt ‘no comment’ geven. Kan meer respect voor Leclerc opbrengen, die durft z’n mening te geven tenminste.

Bah bah wat een onnozele reactie van Norris, brake test, had Max maar nog wat harder geremd, en liefst niet na drie keer terugschakelen, maar meteen!

  Even opgezocht, het klopt wel, no.1 reden is wel deze.
  
  De grote held van Vettel is namelijk Michael Schumacher. Schumi pakte tussen 1994 en 2004 in totaal zeven titels. De kans dat iemand ooit nog meer titels zou pakken leek altijd vrij klein, maar Lewis staat inmiddels ook op zeven titels. Vettel ziet liever niet dat zijn held voorbij gestreefd wordt en hoopt daarom dat de Nederlander Hamilton van zijn achtste wereldtitel kan afhouden.

Inderdaad schandalig en een zwarte dag voor de F1. Het is overduidelijk dat de FIA Max als kampioen wil. Normaal moet dit gewoon diskwalificatie zijn.
