Hamilton verslaat Verstappen voor bijzondere prijs

Max Verstappen werd afgelopen weekend wereldkampioen na een episch titelduel met Lewis Hamilton. De Britse Mercedes-coureur werd in de allerlaatste ronde verslagen en de teleurstelling was begrijpelijk zeer groot. Maar op de achtergrond sluimerde er nog een duel tussen de twee kemphanen, hier was Hamilton wel de beste.

De zevenvoudig wereldkampioen heeft namelijk de Fastest Lap Award gewonnen. Hij verbrak ook hier alle records, het was al de zesde keer dat hij deze prijs in ontvangst mocht nemen. In dit kampioenschap versloeg hij zijn grote rivaal Max Verstappen.

Allebei de coureurs hebben dit seizoen zes keer de snelste ronde gereden. Toch gaat de prijs dit keer naar Hamilton. De Britse coureur was namelijk vaker de man met de op een na snelste ronde. Hierdoor mag hij de beker in ontvangst nemen. De sponsor van de prijs laat de coureurs nog grappend weten dat ze niet in beroep kunnen gaan tegen de uitslag van dit kampioenschap.

      Het geeft wel wat de beste auto is in het veld was in 2021. Gelukkig heeft Verstappen de award voor de meeste poles.

    Max ook, die doet zich altijd voor als een koele kikker maar die brak ook na de finisch en na de race met Jos. Al die l*lverhalen van heel het jaar konden de prullenbak in. Het zijn beide 2 grootse kampioenen en ik denk misschien wel de 2 beste/snelste rijders allertijden tot nu toe.

    Van mij mogen ze die punt voor de snelste ronde afschaffen. Dan heeft deze prijs eigenlijk ook meteen meer waarde. Nu is het toch vooral degene die nog tegen het einde van de race de mogelijkheid heeft om naar zachte banden te wisselen die dan vervolgens de snelste ronde pakt.

    Overigens had Verstappen de snelste ronde in Belgie. Maar die hebben ze maar niet meegeteld ;p

    Vroeger, lang geleden, toen ik nog junioortje was met voetballen, verloren we ook altijd met die toernooien, en kregen we wel de sportiviteits beker, terwijl we iedereen voor de kloten schopten.

    Dit gevoel heeft Lewis nu ook denk.

    Bijzonder 😳 door de manier hoe de snelste ronde tot stand is gekomen dit seizoen is het de meest niks zegende prijs haha. De overtake award komt dichtbij maar die zegt nog dat degene die die gewonen heel slecht was in de kwalificatie (sorry Vettel)
