Ricciardo zit niet stil in vakantie, McLaren ambassadeur voor goed doel

Daniel Ricciardo keert na een wisselvallig eerste jaar bij zijn nieuwe team McLaren terug naar thuisland Australië. De goedlachse coureur moet daar eerst een paar weken in quarantaine aangezien de coronaregels in het land nogal streng zijn. Hij kan zich daar voorbereiden op een voor hem gloednieuwe rol.

Ricciardo mag zich vanaf nu namelijk ambassadeur noemen van de Australische tak van Save the Children. Dit is een wereldwijde organisatie die zich in zet voor het welzijn van kinderen en kinderrechten. De McLaren-coureur zal zich vooral bezig houden met een project op Australische scholen.

De Australische coureur is verheugd met zijn gloednieuwe functie. In een persbericht spreekt Ricciardo zich uit: "Ik steun gepassioneerd het helpen van jonge mensen die niet meekomen in een traditionele leeromgeving maar wel tot hun recht komen op een praktische manier waardoor ze vertrouwen kunnen vinden om tot hun recht te komen."
