Perez verslaat Verstappen en is het vaakst Driver of the Day

Max Verstappen was dit jaar zijn teamgenoot Sergio Perez op bijna alle vlakken de baas. Perez toonde zich een zeer sportieve tweede rijder en schoot zijn Nederlandse kopman vaak te hulp. De prestaties van Perez vielen in de smaak bij het publiek want daar heeft hij Verstappen wel verslagen.

Perez is namelijk de coureur die het vaakst tot 'Driver of the Day' is verkozen. Vier besloot het publiek dat de Mexicaan de beste coureur van de race was. Verstappen was ook populair en mocht zich drie tot de beste van de dag kronen. Ook Lando Norris was populair en mocht drie keer de fans bedanken.

Verstappens rivaal Lewis Hamilton reed enkele zeer knappe races maar werd slechts twee keer verkozen tot 'Driver of the Day'. Dit was echter geen unicum want ook Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso en Charles Leclerc kregen deze eer twee keer. Daniel Ricciardo en Kimi Räikkönen kregen allebei één uitverkiezing.
