Verstappen neemt deel aan virtuele 24 uur van Le Mans

Het is algemeen bekend dat Max Verstappen in zijn vrije tijd graag op de virtuele circuits racet. De Nederlandse Red Bull-coureur kan het ook in zijn vakantie niet laten. Hij zal namelijk meedoen aan één van de grootste E-Sports races van het jaar. Dat zal hij doen met zijn gebruikelijke team.

Verstappen rijdt vrijwel al zijn online races voor het team van Redline. In het weekend van 15 en 16 januari zal hij voor dat team de virtuele 24 uur van Le Mans gaan rijden. Hij is onderdeel van een waar sterrenteam. Hij deelt zijn virtuele voertuig namelijk met E-sport-sterren Atze Kerkhof en Max Benecke. Ook IndyCar-coureur Felix Rosenqvist is zijn teamgenoot.

De kersvers Formule 1-kampioen zal het ook op digitaal vlak moeten opnemen tegen veel grote racenamen. De andere Redline-bolide wordt namelijk bestuurd door onder andere Formule E-coureur Oliver Rowland. Verder krijgt hij concurrentie van IndyCar-kampioen Alex Palou, Beitske Visser en de Colombiaanse ex-Formule 1 coureur Juan Pablo Montoya.

Team redline! zelf ook nog even ingezeten als joystick rijder. GT5/6. Goede rijdertjes hoor. zelfs die amateurs van dat team reden mij op een hoopje. vooral die met stuur en pedalen. onder de joystickrijders was ik wel een van de betere. altijd wel in de top 30 van de tijdrijders, dus zeg maar 1 rondje.

  Nog niet helemaal. Ze hebben net Max zijn vriend Stan en zijn vriendin Nikki in Maastricht afgezet en zijn net vertrokken op weg naar Monaco. Over een uur begint zijn vakantie. ;-)
