Brown happy met collega Seidl: "Hij is de beste teambaas binnen de F1"

Het team van McLaren veroverde in 2021 weer vele harten van veel Formule 1-fans. De legendarische Britse ploeg kende een zeer goede eerste seizoenshelft en de sfeer bij het team leek enorm goed. Coureurs Daniel Ricciardo en Lando Norris hebben beide een enorme fanbase en hun prestaties waren vaak ook wel om over naast huis te schrijven.

Ook de leiding van het team kon op veel sympathie rekenen. CEO Zak Brown maakte een positieve indruk en veroverde veel harten met zijn weddenschap met Ricciardo. Autoverzamelaar Brown beloofde Ricciardo een ritje in diens droomauto bij een podiumplaats. De Australiër won op Monza en kreeg in Austin het droomritje. Naast de enthousiaste Brown zat ook teambaas Andreas Seidl aan de pitmuur, de Duitser straalde rust uit.

Schouders

Amerikaan Brown is dan ook heel erg blij met de werkzaamheden van Seidl. De twee zijn twee handen op één buik en de lovende woorden vliegen over en weer. In gesprek met Motorsport-Magazin deelt Brown de complimenten uit: "Hij nam de druk van mijn schouders en verdeelde die over zijn eigen schouders, hij levert een top job. Ik denk dat hij de beste teambaas binnen de Formule 1 is."

Lol

Het leidinggevende duo vult elkaar aardig aan en dat bevalt Brown. De sympathieke Amerikaan is in zijn sas met Seidl: "Hij leidt het raceteam, dat is zijn show. De samenwerking tussen Andreas en mij is buitengewoon. We maken elkaar echt compleet. Er zijn dingen die ik doe voor het team en er zijn dingen die hij doet, er is echter geen overlap. We hebben veel lol samen. Ik denk dat deze high-performance en vrolijke cultuur werkt en verantwoordelijk is voor onze resultaten.

      Kon je dat niet leveren had je een probleem.
      Ik was zelf in ieder geval blij ik niet heel lang bij McL in dat gebouw hoefde te zijn, en had absoluut het te doen met onze projectleider die elke dag bij Dennis een voortgang gesprek had over de te verrichten werkzaamheden...

      Ik vermoed die projectleider vandaag de dag nog steeds gestressed is van die gesprekken

      @arran Leuk dat je dat wil delen! De verhalen van Ron kloppen dus wel.

      Geloof dat het vandaag nog steeds belangrijk is een duidelijke progressie te maken en de vinger daar op de pols te houden. De manier waarop kan wel een groot verschil maken. Een no blame cultuur waar iedereen met de neus in dezelfde richting staat is een leuk uitgangspunt. Om dat in de praktijk te brengen en goed functionerend te maken vraagt tijd en is niet de gemakkelijkste weg om te bewandelen. Overtuigt dat op dat vlak heel wat is gewijzigd bij McLaren.

      Na het tijdperk van Dennis was het ook begrijpelijk dat het het team tijd nodig had om zichzelf opnieuw uit te vinden. Zo’n cultuuromslag kost tijd.

      Alles was grijs en het McLaren thuishonk straalt nog steeds het minimalisme van toen uit. Clean, strak, schoon. Toen Newey daar nog werkte had Newey zijn kamer wel van kleur voorzien, tot afgrijzen van Ron Dennis.

      Precies 2de van het seizoen gemist?
      Daniël kreeg vertrouwen na Monza en begon zich bij het team te voelen na zijn aanpassingen periode. Daniël reed een goeie tweede helft en scoorde redelijk wat punten voor McLaren

      Ik gun Ricciardo het beste en hoop dat hij in 2022 weer zijn goede niveau weet te halen, maar 2021 was beneden zijn niveau, ook de 2e seizoenshelft ook al ging het toen beter, dat wel...

      @larry Oke daar heb je een punt, maar ik bedoelde niet echt over zijn niveau had meer over hoe het ging in eerste seizoen helft en de 2de seizoenhelft was toch een groot verschil maar hopelijk is 2022 een beter jaar voor hem ik zie McLaren en Ferrari wel grote stappen zetten dit seizoen
