Grosjean ziet enorme hype voor Miami: "Iedereen heeft het erover"

De hoge heren van de Formule 1 doen er alles aan om voet te krijgen aan de Amerikaanse grond. Het lijkt ze aardig te lukken want de sport zit in de lift in het grote land aan de andere kant van de plas. De kijkcijfers gaan omhoog en de Netflix-serie 'Drive to Survive' is enorm populair in het land.

Aankomend seizoen trekt men dan ook meermaals naar The States. Er staan dit jaar namelijk twee races in Amerika op de planner. Naast de gebruikelijke race in Austin zal men ook gaan rijden op een gloednieuw circuit in Miami. In deze bekende stad in de staat Florida heeft men een nieuwe circuit gebouwd om het Hard Rock Stadium heen. De verwachtingen zijn zeer hoog en de kaartjes zijn al lang en breed uitverkocht.

Hotels

Voormalig Formule 1-coureur Romain Grosjean trok enkele jaren geleden al naar Amerika om daar in de IndyCars te gaan rijden. De Fransman is zéér enthousiast over de keuze voor Miami en spreekt zich uit tegenover Canal+: "Iedereen heeft het erover. Het is echt het event van het jaar hier. Ik heb vernomen dat de tickets in minder dan een half uur overal waren uitverkocht. De hotels zijn overal vol geboekt. Het wordt zeker weten een fantastisch event."

Drukke maand

In mei trekt de koningsklasse van de autosport naar de bekende stad in Florida. Normaliter staat de maand mei in autosport minnend Amerika in het teken van de Indy 500. Grosjean denkt echter dat men veel aandacht gaat geven aan de race in Miami: "De maand mei draait in de VS om de Indy 500. Het is duidelijk dat we een drukke maand voor de boeg hebben. Ik merk dat men in de States echt van sport houdt, ook van de autosport. Het is fantastisch."

  Dat zou kunnen indien hij in Miami is. Anders zou hij namelijk geen signalen oppikken. Ik denk eerder dat F1 een stiekeme wens is van de meest IndiCar teams/rijders. is eerder Indi talk of the town.

Ik merk het ook,of ik nou bij de slager of bakker kom en zelfs in de buurtsuper, iedereen heeft het er idd. over van jong tot oud.
Het lijkt wel op een besmettelijk virus die GP van Miami...

  was vanochtend nog bij de bakker en ik vroeg hem naar zijn mening over de gp in Miami, hij keek me heel ongeïnteresseerd aan en l*lde er gewoon overheen "wat voor soort brood wilt u?"
  Ik helemaal geïrriteerd "IEDEREEN heeft het over de F1 in Miami en dan kom jij met je K*T brood aan?! Weet je waar jij je brood kunt stoppen?!"
  en zo ben ik woedend de deur uit gestierd, wie denkt ie wel dat ie is, de gek..
