Perez mag vrijdagmiddag de RB18 in de regen testen van Pirelli

De Formule 1-teams zijn momenteel druk bezig met het testen van hun nieuwe bolides in Barcelona. Men probeert alles te simuleren om alle ins en outs van hun nieuwe bolides te kunnen vinden. Het is echter onmogelijk om alles uit te testen, het weer is immers lastig te simuleren. Bij bandenleverancier Pirelli denken ze daar echter iets anders over.

De Italiaanse bandenleverancier van de Formule 1 heeft namelijk bekend gemaakt dat men vrijdagmiddag een regentest gaat afwerken. Tijdens de lunchpauze in Barcelona stuurt Pirelli een legertje trucks met water de baan op. Hierdoor zal de gehele baan worden voorzien van een laagje water, alsof het stevig heeft geregend dus.

Natuurlijke regenbui

Er is echter een kleine kans dat een natuurlijke regenbui de regenplannen van Pirelli in de weg gaan liggen. Als het namelijk tijdens een eerdere sessie gaat regenen zal met de geplande natte sessie schrappen. De teams krijgen in ieder geval drie sets inters en drie sets regenbanden tot hun beschikking. Het zijn nieuwe rubbertjes voor de teams aangezien men dit seizoen met nieuwe banden rijdt.

Perez

Max Verstappen is een echte regenrijder maar hij zal niet in actiekomen tijdens de natte test van Pirelli. Voor de vrijdagmiddag staat namelijk de naam van teamgenoot Sergio Perez in de planner. Ook onder andere Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Alexander Albon en Valtteri Bottas zullen de middagsessie voor hun rekening gaan nemen.

Volgens mij en ik weet het vrijwel zeker, was het bij RB het plan dat Max de vrijdagmiddag zou rijden. Perez rijdt namelijk morgen en de vrijdagochtend dat scheelt nl 2 wisselingen van het stoeltje
