Verstappen deelt belang Oekraïne-statement

De Formule 1-coureurs maakten gisteravond een stevig statement tegen de oorlog in Oekraïne. Gezamenlijk poseerden ze voor een foto, op de foto droegen ze een shirt waarop 'No War' stond. Het statement werd duidelijk breed gedragen en zelfs de afwezige Lewis Hamilton sprak zijn volle steun uit.

De coureurs laten individueel ook allemaal nog wat van zich horen. Dat geldt ook voor wereldkampioen Max Verstappen. De Nederlandse Red Bull-piloot plaats de sterke foto ook op zijn eigen sociale kanalen en zet daarbij dezelfde tekst als op het shirt. Tijdens de vorige wintertest in Barcelona liet hij al weten dat hij liever niet in Rusland wil racen.

      Putin bekommert zich alleen maar om zichzelf. Een heel bevolking uitmoorden draait ie zijn hand niet voor om. Veilig in zijn bunkertje. Deed iemand in de jaren 40 ook. Hoop zo dat WW3 ons bespaard blijft.

      Dat een persoontje vanuit een minderwaardigheidscomplex de hele wereld zo op z'n kop kan zetten en om zijn doel te bereiken kinderziekenhuizen bombardeert......

      @WC MAX In 2015 heeft Nederland zelf nog een dorp half plat gebombardeerd, met vele burgerdoden tot gevolg. En de politiek heeft dit vervolgens ook nog eens 5 jaar in de doofpot gestopt, ook niet echt chique (anno 2022), wel?

      Dat praat niks goed (want dit is niet goed te praten), maar mijn punt is dat we zelf ook niet zo onschuldig zijn, als we altijd zouden willen.

      Om zijn CO2 uitstoot te verminderen heeft Lewis o.a. zijn privé jet de deur uit gedaan en vliegt hij met commerciële vluchten.
      Dan heb je wat sneller kans op vertraging.

      Hij huurt nu een Jet ipv zelf een Jet te hebben.

    Goed dat ze het doen, maar uiteindelijk is het een vrij leeg statement natuurlijk. Er is natuurlijk niet een bepaalde meerwaarde in termen van awareness.
    En niet dat het hoeft, maar het is ook niet iets waar iemand het mee oneens is uiteindelijk.
    Derhalve vind ik het specifiek voor Verstappen, voor wie het lastig is om te zeggen dat racisme slecht is, en ook geen LHBTQ-gerelateerde statements maakte, ook redelijk hypocriet om hieraan mee te doen.

      Je zou beter eens iemand een compliment kunnen maken, dan denk ik aan Zhou. Hij komt uit een land dat Putin nauwelijks iets in de weg staat.
      Kan me voorstellen dat Zhou er wel even over na heeft moeten denken en tof dat hij het aandurft.

      Wat een kul, dus als je niet van de daken schreeuwt dat je het ergens niet mee eens bent ben je hypocriet.Er waren trouwens meer coureurs die niet knielden maar ja Verstappen bashen is lekker makkelijk scoren.

    Ik ben ook tegen elke oorlog. Echter, vanaf 2014 werd Oost-Oekraine door leger oekraine gebombardeerd. Zelfs met snipers werden kinderen in scholen doodgeschoten. Er was een economische blokkade voor dit gebied. Pensioenen werden niet meer uitbetaald, de zorg werd niet meer uitbetaald, artsen werden niet meer uitbetaald, maanden lang werden geen luiers aan kinderhuizen. op alles werd dit gebied gekort door Oekraine. Daardoor zijn er sinds 2015 15.0000 overleden aan dit oorlogsgeweld. M.a.w. waar waren de journalisten toen, waar waren Max en co, waar was Amnesty en de Gironummers om geld te doneren. Waarom was iedereen toen zo stil, waarom mocht dit geweld wel doorgaan?

      grappig, boos zijn omdat de Oekraine schijnbaar geen geld en goederen levert in een gebied dat door de vijand is veroverd. de boefjes!
      terecht om nu hun ziekenhuizen plat te bombarderen lijkt me.

      Maar serieus, hoepel op met je sovjet propaganda. Werkt misschien in Rusland waar je alleen staatsmedia hebt maar hier zien we elke dag de treurige waarheid op tv...
