Ralf Schumacher blij voor neef Mick: "Magnussen grotere uitdaging dan Mazepin"

Mick Schumacher had de hoop om in Saoedi-Arabië voor het eerst in zijn loopbaan WK-punten te kunnen pakken. Het liep echter allemaal iets anders, tijdens de kwalificatie crashte hij snoeihard. Zijn Haas was volledig afgeschreven en Schumacher werd afgevoerd naar het ziekenhuis voor onderzoek. Hij kwam er zonder letsel vanaf maar verscheen niet aan de start van de race.

Vanuit de pitbox zag hij zijn nieuwe teamgenoot Kevin Magnussen wederom een puike race rijden. De Deense coureur werd vijfde tijdens de seizoensopener en ook in Jeddah liep alles weer op rolletjes. Magnussen kende een iets moeilijkere race en kwam uiteindelijk op de negende plaats over de finishlijn en hiermee pakte hij weer punten. Het moet Schumacher het gevoel geven dat er meer in het vat zit.

Leren

Magnussen werd vlak voor het seizoen ingevlogen als vervanger van de ontslagen Nikita Mazepin. Oud-coureur Ralf Schumacher vindt deze wissel een goede zaak voor zijn neefje Mick. Tegenover de Duitse tak van Sky Sports spreekt hij zich uit: "Het is duidelijk dat Magnussen een grotere uitdaging is dan Mazepin. Het is echter nog maar Micks tweede jaar in de Formule 1 dus hij leert nog steeds heel erg veel."

Eergevoel

De crash van zijn neef kwam even goed binnen bij Ralf Schumacher maar nu maakt hij zich er niet zo druk meer over. Hij spreekt zich erover uit: "Het zag er natuurlijk heel erg dramatisch uit. Maar een coureur stapt heel snel over dat soort incidenten heen. Hij is overduidelijk superfit dus het was niet zo slecht voor hem. Het heeft zijn eergevoel vast meer aangetast want hij was bezig met een snelle ronde."

    Meneer Ralf Schumacher is een vervelend zeurderig kereltje, altijd maar kritiek op nagenoeg iedereen behalve op Mick zelfs al doet hij alles fout dan nog is uncle Ralf in staat om een ander aan te wijzen als veroorzaker

      Ralf is soms idd erg zeurderig.
      Ten aanzien van neef Mick heeft Ralf natuurlijk een eeuwige vrijstelling.
      Michael is er niet en Ralf pakt automatisch de rol van beschermer en grootste fan. Daar kan en mag je Ralf niet op aanspreken. Dat is hetzelfde als Anthony Hamilton verwijten dat hij altijd door een Lewis bril kijkt.

      @rimmer tot op zekere hoogte ben ik het met je eens maar er is niks mis met eerlijk zijn, Leclerc en Max rijden een dijk van een wedstrijd en daar zie ik hem doodleuk kritiek op leveren , Mick rijdt 1 milj door het putje in Q2 en en daar zal Mick van Leren , ik bedoel noem het gewoon zoals het is en kritiek kan ook opbouwend zijn er is niks mis om Mick een spiegel voor te houden ipv hem de hemel in schrijven

    Op dit moment staat het gewoon 2-0 in kwali, 12-0 op zondag en 100-0 in het hoofd.

    Melbourne, Imola, Miami... allemaal locaties waar de tracklimit erg dichtbij is en waar je zonder zelfvertrouwen vermoedelijk een paar tienden langzamer bent.

      Ralf zal dit seizoen een flinke aanslag op zijn creatieve vermogen moeten doen om steeds nieuwe excuses te verzinnen voor Mick.

      Op een gegeven moment zullen die nog lachwekkender worden dan die nu soms al zijn…

    Dit jaar wordt het erop of eronder voor neefje Mick. Magnussen staat na 2 races op 12 punten. Tegen Mick 0 punten en een flinke schade. Dat verschil kan je niet weg analyseren.

      En dat terwijl Mick i.t.t. Kevin bij de ontwikkeling van de auto was betrokken, heeft i.t.t. Kevin in de simulator gezeten en kende het circuit wat niet gold voor KMag.
      Bovendien miste Kevin bijna de hele vrijdag, dus geen tracktime.
      Ik begin me af te vragen hoe lang Mick nog met fluwelen handschoentjes wordt aangepakt door o.a. ook Domenicali die roept dat hij droomt over Mick in Ferrari.
      Laat Sainz daar maar lekker verlengen.

    Ik begrijp natuurlijk ook ergens wel dat hij dit zegt, ondanks dat hij de oom van is.
    Het is nu goed om te kijken waar mick stappen kan zetten, zich vergelijkend met een degelijke coureur.
    En zelfs als men dat niet vindt, dan is het nog altijd beter dan Mazepin. Een verwend onzeker ventje die constant langzamer was. Om vervolgens aan de hand van pappa te eisen dat er een nieuwe auto gebouwd moest worden, omdat het snelheids verschil onmogelijk aan hem zelf kon liggen. Allemaal geld dat niet in de ontwikkeling van de auto gestopt kon worden.

    Ik zelf mis liever de naam Schumacher in de F1, dan dat er iemand met dezelde naam rijdt maar niet hetzelfde talent heeft. Ik had bij jacques en damon meer gevoel dan ik heb bij Mick.
    En natuurlijk heeft hij niet de begeleiding gehad die Max wel kreeg van zijn vader en is hij F2 kampioen. Het is alleen tot nu toe niets bijzonders. Veel schade en crashes en zijn beste prestatie vond hij, dat hij verstappen ee

      Ging mis zo te zien.

      met verstappen kon vechten toen max zijn wagen zwaar beschadigd was. Tot nu toe nog geen hoogvlieger dus inderdaad goed om hem te zien naast Magnussen
