Leclerc schuldbewust: "Ik heb daarvoor de prijs betaald"

Charles Leclerc begon de sprintrace van vanmiddag vanaf de tweede plek maar kon de Tifosi in Imola al vroeg laten juichen. De Monegaskische Ferrari-coureur stak zijn rivaal Max Verstappen bij de start voorbij en hield de kop lang vast. In de slotfase ging het echter toch nog mis voor Leclerc.

Verstappen kwam steeds dichterbij en in de laatste paar rondjes stond de druk er vol op bij Leclerc. De Monegask moest verdedigen maar vlak voor het einde moest hij de handdoek in de spreekwoordelijke ring gooien. Verstappen haalde hem in en de sprintwinst ging naar de Nederlander. Leclerc start morgen de normale race vanaf de tweede plaats.

Pushen

Leclerc had tijdens de race zijn plannetje voor de slotfase al helemaal in zijn hoofd. Het ging echter niet zoals hij had gehoopt en daar is hij eerlijk over. De Ferrari-coureur sprak zich uit tegenover Sky Sports: "Ik pushte keihard aan het begin van de race en ik probeerde niet kwetsbaar te zijn tegenover Max en zijn DRS. Ik heb het gevoel dat ik de prijs daarvoor heb betaald aan het einde van de race. Ik had het idee dat ze meer hadden vandaag."

Gelukkig voor Leclerc zijn er morgen weer volop kansen. De WK-leider gaan alles eens eventjes rustig bekijken met zijn manschappen zodat hij morgen zijn strijd aan kan gaan. "Ik denk dat de data van vandaag ons kan helpen bij het maken van de juiste beslissing voor morgen. Dat gaat dan over of we gaan voor een hardere compound maar ik weet dat nog niet zeker. We gaan eerst de data bekijken en dan de juiste beslissing nemen."

Ik geloof dat het morgen weer meer kans op regen is dan kan het wel verrassend worden.

Maar Leclerc hoeft geen risico te pakken 2 de plaats is ook goed met zijn comfortabele voorsprong.

Ze zouden Perez voor Leclerc moeten krijgen al zal dit moeilijk zijn.

Starten op geel en eindigen op een setje witte sloffen moet makkelijk kunnen. Maar starten op rood, over op geel en afsluiten met een setje rode hardloopschoenen kan wellicht ook interessant zijn.
Ik denk dat we een hele leuke race gaan krijgen. Ik heb er zin in!

Ik twijfel of het alleen aan hem lag. Als de Ferrari morgen ook zo hard met de banden omgaat en dan vooral de hardere compounds zie ik flinke kansen voor Red Bull

  Ik denk dat de upgrade aan de voorkant bij redbull voor dit weekend heeft gezorgd, dat de bandenslijtage verminderd is.
  
  Wellicht heeft RBR een allround auto en zowel op circuits wel high downforce als high topspeed per GP kan bepalen, maar dat in de eerste 3 races niet gedaan heeft. Nu met high downforce is de slijtage veel beter te managen

  Perez moet Leclerc ook kunnen pakken, als de hoofdrave hetzelfde gaat worden als de hoofdrace is dat goed mogelijk. Ferrari mag niet uitlopen, het moet spannender worden, niet saaier.😉

Ik hoop dat ferrari nog wat weet te vinden voor de race zo niet punten verzamelen, en zo gauw mogelijk die updates erop😋
