Alonso baalt van pechmomenten: "Had 25 of 30 punten moeten hebben"

Fernando Alonso is ook anno 2022 nog altijd actief in de Formule 1. De ervaren Spanjaard heeft in de loop der jaren echter niets ingeleverd van zijn snelheid. De Alpine-coureur liet zich dit seizoen meermaals op sterke wijze zien maar kende ook zeer veel pech. Hij staat momenteel vijftiende in de WK-stand met slechts twee punten.

Het is opvallend aangezien de tweevoudig wereldkampioen dit seizoen meermaals meevocht in de top tien. In Australië was hij in de kwalificatie tevens bezig met een rondje dat goed was voor een tijd in de top drie. Hij kreeg daar echter te maken met problemen waardoor hij crashte, die problemen achtervolgen hem al het gehele seizoen. Ook in Saoedi-Arabië was hij namelijk goed onderweg tot dat hij uitviel. Ook afgelopen weekend ging het vroeg mis en viel hij wederom uit.

Controle

Alonso zelf baalt als een stekker van zijn enorme hoeveelheid problemen. De ervaren Spanjaard is van mening dat hij meer punten verdiende. Hij is nogal duidelijk in zijn analyse van zijn eigen seizoenstart, hij wordt geciteerd door Mundo Deportivo: "Ik denk dat er een heleboel ongelukkige momenten zijn geweest in dit kampioenschap. Het was allemaal buiten mijn controle en dit (Imola, red.) was daar een nieuw voorbeeld van."

Pijnlijk

De Alpine-coureur is dan ook van mening dat zijn huidige plaats in het kampioenschap een vertekend beeld geeft. Alonso vindt dat hij veel meer verdient: "Ik start het seizoen liever goed dan dat ik aardig begin en slecht eindig. Maar op hetzelfde moment zie je als je op de televisie naar de races kijkt, dat heb ik ook jammer genoeg teveel gedaan, ik nu 2 puntjes heb terwijl dat er 25 of 30 hadden moeten zijn. Dat is enorm pijnlijk."

Wat wil je nou eigenlijk zeggen? Het is toch niet meer dan logisch dat Alonso baalt? Mag hij niet balen dan? Het zou juist bizar zijn als het hem niets doet. Juist mooi om te zien dat een man als Alonso nog tot op het bot gemotiveerd is, en zo nu en dan hele mooie dingen laat zien.

Ja, en Max had nu gedeeld 1 kunnen staan, en Vettel had nu al meer punten kunnen hebben en Schumacher een extra chasis……. Pffff..

  Hij schreef ook toen Max klaagde dat Ferrari al mijlenver voor lag, dat Alonso had al veel meer punten dan Ocon kunnen hebben :) Ehh :)
  
  Maarre, zonder al die pech rijdt Alonso een van zijn beste seizoenen ooit. En dat op die reeds hoge leeftijd ;)

  2012 blijft de allerbeste, met afstand ;).
  Wat hij destijds met Ferrari deed, vooral aan het begin van het seizoen... was pure klasse. Valencia dat jaar was wellicht ook zijn beste race ooit.
  Nu doet Alonso het heel goed, maar zo goed als 2012 (en uberhaupt de fase halverwege 2010 t/m 2013) wordt het niet meer, en dat is ook helemaal niet erg en ook zeker geen schande.
  
  Een podium zal er dit jaar wel komen. De Alpine is niet langzaam en het kwartje valt ook wel weer een keer de goede kant op.

  Z’n Ferrari periode vond ik zeer indrukwekkend tot 2013. Dat seizoen hebben ze in het begin onnodig veel punten verspeeld. Zo zonde was dat.

  Zonder 2013, dat was een slecht seizoen met domme knulligheden aan het begin van het seizoen waar ze onnodig punten morsten.
  Alonso in een competatieve auto kan nog prima met de top mee en ik denk niet dat hij veel snelheid heeft ingeleverd als ie al heeft ingeleverd.
  Alonso moest het altijd al van zn gogme en racecraft hebben hoeveel hij ook best kan kwalificeren. Het is voor iedereen verschillend hoe lang men scherp en snel blijft. Maargoed wij zijn het niet eens daarover, maar als je ziet hoe hij rijdt kunnen we het in ieder geval eens zijn over de toegevoegde waarde van deze strijder.
