Perez eert Mexicaanse raceheld met Monaco-helm

Veel coureurs rijden dit weekend rond met een speciaal helmdesign rond. De Grand Prix van Monaco is altijd een race waarbij men voor bijzondere ontwerpen kiest. Ook dit jaar is het weer raak en rijden onder andere Lewis Hamilton en Pierre Gasly met bijzondere helmen rond.

Misschien is het de oplettende kijker opgevallen maar ook Sergio Perez rijdt dit weekend rond met een bijzondere helm. De Mexicaanse Red Bull Racing-coureur rijdt namelijk rond met een zwarte helm. Hij eert hiermee zijn legendarische landgenoot Pedro Rodriguez. Perez en Rodriguez zijn de enige twee Mexicaanse Grand Prix-winnaars, een detail dat tevens op de helm voorkomt.
