Leclerc vertelt strategie: "Geen risico nemen"

Charles Leclerc zegt dat hij vandaag geen grote risico's zal nemen als hij probeert een einde te maken aan de vloek die zijn vorige Grands Prix in Monaco teisterde. De Monegask zal de stratenrace mogen beginnen vanaf de beste positie want net als vorig jaar is de pole position voor Leclerc.

In gesprek met L'Equipe zei hij: "Ik hou van straatraces, ik flirt graag met risico's. Op circuits als deze heb je geen ruimte voor fouten, je voelt echt de adrenaline. Vorig jaar nam ik een groot risico om op pole position te komen, omdat ik wist dat ik een wonder nodig zou hebben om op de eerste rij te komen - en ik eindigde in de muur. Deze keer zal ik niet zulke grote risico's nemen, want ik begrijp dat punten erg belangrijk zijn voor het kampioenschap. Maar ik ga mijn aanpak niet veranderen en ik zal mijn tradities behouden; ik slaap dus het hele weekend al thuis in mijn eigen bed."

Leclerc zegt dat hij al zijn concentratie heeft op het winnen van zijn eerste kampioenschap in 2022. "Alles wat ik wil is de titel winnen met Ferrari. Het maakt niet uit of het tegen Max, Lewis of iemand anders is. Ik wil Ferrari terug naar de top brengen."

"Maar natuurlijk wil ik de race dit weekend winnen - Monaco is mijn thuis. Het is waar ik naar school ging. Toen ik als kind racete, vroegen de leraren zich af waarom ik niet in de klas zat. Het zou geweldig zijn om hier te winnen in het bijzijn van mijn familie, mijn vrienden en al diegenen die in mij geloofden."

    Beter. Vandaag 25 punten in de tas. Komende races worden lastig. Daar zie ik rbr wel echt de overhand hebben.

      Dat is helemaal niet gezegd justin dst rb de overhand heeft. Ferrari is snel op elk circuit nu. Sta er niet gek van te kijken dat ze in bakoe ook overhand hebben. Barcelona was gewoon een mazzeltje voor rb. Mja rb gaat pas in silverstone iets doen, ruimtelijke laat.

      Ja maar zelfs als er wat gebeurt gebeurt er niets ;) Stoppen voor nieuwe banden bij een SF heeft geen zin want je wil trackpositie en met nieuwe banden kom je er toch niet voorbij. Ik gunde Ricciardo zijn overwinning na zijn pitstop debacle het jaar ervoor, maar dat je kan winnen met 160 pk minder is echt een afgang voor de F1.

      Saai gaat het niet worden, volg meteen ook een livestream van het Kantklos Toernooi Appelscha 2022.

      Dat zou normaliter ook een simpele overwinning voor tante Agaath uit Warmetuut betekenen, maar de organisatie heeft besloten dat tante Agaath uit Warmetuut één arm op haar rug moet houden tijdens het kantklossen...

    Wordt een hele eenvoudige voor charles. En eerlijk is eerlijk verdient en het is hem gegund na die ellende van de afgelopen jaren. Rb en max hadden maar beter voor de dag moeten komen.
