Binotto maakt zich zorgen: "Betrouwbaarheid van de motor is altijd een ding"

Het team van Ferrari is momenteel bezig aan een sterk seizoen. De Italiaanse renstal vormt momenteel de kop van het veld gezamenlijk met concurrent Red Bull Racing. Afgelopen weekend had Ferrari een grote kans op de zege maar een mislukte strategie zorgde ervoor dat Charles Leclerc niet won.

Maar naast de mislukte strategie waren er nog veel meer kopzorgen voor de Italiaanse renstal. Bij hun klantenteams Haas en Alfa Romeo waren er namelijk meerdere problemen met de door Ferrari geleverde motoren. Haas-coureur Mick Schumacher viel in de eerste training stil met een probleem aan de MGU-K. Teamgenoot Kevin Magnussen viel in de race uit met motorproblemen en Alfa-coureur Valtteri Bottas miste een groot gedeelte van de eerst training met eveneens MGU-K problemen.

Betrouwbaarheid

Ferrari-teambaas Mattia Binotto ziet dat er veel problemen ontstaan met de krachtbronnen van zijn renstal. De teambaas maakt zich slechts een klein beetje zorgen maar dat deelt hij wel met de internationale media: "De betrouwbaarheid van de motor is altijd een zorg. We gaan kijken naar wat er precies gebeurd is en dan krijg je soms een duidelijke verklaring. De oorzaak kan liggen bij externe incidenten. Het kan worden veroorzaakt door uitzonderlijke omstandigheden. Andere oorzaken kunnen echt een zorg zijn."

Sleutelfactor

Ferrari is momenteel nog in een aardige kampioensstrijd verwikkeld met concurrent Red Bull. Binotto weet dat beide teams dit seizoen al enkele betrouwbaarheidsproblemen hebben gehad. Hij denkt dat het een beslissende rol gaat spelen: "De betrouwbaarheid is tot nu toe een sleutelfactor geweest in het kampioenschap. Wij hadden problemen in Spanje. Maar Red Bull heeft tot nu toe drie DNF's en wij hebben er slechts één. Maar onze klantenteams hadden er ook een paar, het is dus een uitdaging. Wanneer je zorgen hebt is dat nooit vanzelfsprekend om ze op korte termijn te kunnen verhelpen."

Ik denk vooral dat ze veel te veel voor over 1 snel rondje gaan, Al pakken ze nog 15 poles. in de race zit je gewoon te wachten wanneer het mis gaat of wanneer Max of Checo er met die raket achter komt te zitten, daarom hebben ze ook zwaar gefaald in Monaco, want dat had absoluut een zekerheidje ... Uitvallen door motorische problemen heeft altijd iets dubbels, het voelt heel oneerlijk, maar het is ook wel weer mooi dat de fabrikanten tot het gaatje gaan en er daardoor zo nu en dan een wagen de finish niet haalt door een plof.

Ik denk vooral dat ze veel te veel voor over 1 snel rondje gaan, Al pakken ze nog 15 poles. in de race zit je gewoon te wachten wanneer het mis gaat of wanneer Max of Checo er met die raket achter komt te zitten, daarom hebben ze ook zwaar gefaald in Monaco, want dat had absoluut een zekerheidje moeten zijn.

Volgens mij denken ze daar dat de punten op zaterdag worden verdeeld, en heel veel mensen hier denken dat ook.

  Maar de Honda (ex) motoren halen dit seizoen nog wel vaker de finish niet, dus wat dat betreft is het billenknijpen voor beide teams.

  @Maximo, met die Honda motoren zelf was niets aan de hand. Ze bleken op de verkeerde manier in de wagen gemonteerd te zitten., waardoor er problemen ontstonden. Heb dat hier al eens uitgebreid beschreven.

  OK, dat wist ik niet.
  
  Maar wat Binotto zegt is natuurlijk ook waar, soms kan het uitvallen ook door externe factoren komen, dus wie weet zijn beide motoren motorisch in orde, maar vallen ze uit door andere factoren.
  
  Dan blijven ze wel allebei gevoelig voor externe factoren.

  De problemen bij Haas en Alfa zaten in het hybride gedeelte, ik meen de MGU-H, daar zijn er afgelopen weekend 3 van stuk gegaan.
