Leclerc gelooft nog in titel: "Zeker van dat we het gat kunnen dichten"

Het team van Ferrari en hun stercoureur Charles Leclerc begonnen zeer dominant aan het huidige seizoen. Van de eerste drie races werden er drie gewonnen door Leclerc. Daarna ging er echter van alles mis bij de Monegask en zijn Italiaanse werkgever.

Leclerc verloor de leiding in het wereldkampioenschap dan ook aan zijn Red Bull Racing-rivaal Max Verstappen. De Nederlander profiteerde van Leclercs problemen en breidde zijn voorsprong flink uit.

Doel

Ferrari lijkt echter weer terug aan de kop. Ik Silverstone ging de zege naar Leclercs teamgenoot Carlos Sainz en twee weken geleden won Leclerc zelf in Oostenrijk. In Frankrijk laat hij aan de internationale media weten nog steeds te willen jagen op het ultieme doel: "Het is nog steeds mijn doel om de titel te winnen. Ik ben niet van plan om nog meer punten te verliezen dan we nu al hebben gedaan. 38 punten is een groot gat maar dat betekent niet dat het onmogelijk is om wereldkampioen te worden."

Geloof

Leclerc gelooft nog steeds in de titel en hij is niet te bang om dat uit te spreken. Hij deelt dan ook een kleine waarschuwing uit aan Verstappen: "Ik geloof er nog steeds net zoveel in als vijf Grands Prix geleden. We hebben wat fouten gemaakt en we hebben betrouwbaarheidsproblemen gehad. We moeten nu gewoon perfect zijn tot aan het einde van het seizoen. Ik ben er zeker van dat we het gat naar Max kunnen dichten."

  Een lichtpuntje was de laatste race maar denk dat RB met hun upgrade een einde zal maakt aan hun eenmalige slechte bandenslijtage.

Het kan echt alle kanten op, Ferrari heeft dw mooiste en snelste, maar niet de meest betrouwbare wagen van de grid.
En de verschillen zijn zo ontzettend klein, dat elke race de details, de pitstops, de omstandigheden etc de doorslag kunnen geven.

Baart wel zorgen dat er nog wel een aantal motoren gewisseld zullen moeten worden dit seizoen.

Het is zeker niet gedaan. Geweldig. Mooi jaar. RB mag zijn handen dicht knijpen. Ferrari laat het liggen op betrouwbaarheid maar zijn in de basis sneller geweest. Ik denk dat het nog spannend gaat worden. Game on.

Komen nog een aantal straffen aan, en misschien nog wel meer, ik denk dat Red Bull precies weet waarom het de vorige GP mis ging.

Ferraris zijn niet betrouwbaar, misschien volgend jaar.

In ieder geval een nieuwe vloer voor Leclerc en Sainz. Tot nu toe zijn alle updates raak, dus hopelijk weer een stap in de juiste richting. Zo'n GP zonder pole voor Ferrari bevalt totaal niet namelijk.

  Absoluut niet. Ja Max staat er beter voor, zowel in punten als in betrouwbaarheid van het materiaal, maar het is en blijft autosport en met een verschil van 38 punten halverwege het seizoen ben je echt nog niet veilig.
