'Masi in verband gebracht met tweede functie in Australië'

Begin dit jaar werd Michael Masi door de FIA uit zijn functie als wedstrijdleider van de Formule 1 gezet. De Australiër moest vertrekken als gevolg van de controversiële seizoensfinale van vorig jaar. De FIA beloofde Masi een andere functie binnen de organisatie Die nieuwe functie bleef echter uit en Masi vertrok naar zijn thuisland Australië. In zijn thuisland staat hij op pole position voor meerdere nieuwe functies.

Masi maakte vorige maand bekend dat hij de FIA had verlaten. De autosportorganisatie zocht sinds zijn Formule 1-exit naar een nieuwe baan maar deze zoektocht liep op niets uit. Masi vertrok naar Australië en leek daar van zijn rust te kunnen gaan genieten. Niets blijkt echter minder waar want in Australië ziet men Masi als de geschikte kandidaat voor meerdere belangrijke functies binnen de lokale autosport.

Afgelopen week werd bekend dat Masi op het punt staat om Neil Crompton op te volgen als voorzitter van de Supercars Commission. Volgens Motorsport.com mag Masi zich ook gaan voorbereiden op een tweede belangrijke functie binnen de Australische autosport. Masi is volgens het medium ook in beeld bij de South Australian Motorsport Board. De SAMB werd recent opnieuw in het leven geroepen als onderdeel van de comeback van de Adelaide 500. De nieuwe deelstaatregering stond achter dit plan en in december sluit deze race het seizoen van de Supercars af.

Ik heb enigszins wel medelijden met Masi. Moest hele grote ervaren schoenen vullen en kreeg 1 van de meest ingewikkelde situaties op zn bord door incapabele marshalls van Abu Dhabi.

  Dus dan hoop ik dat bij de tweede GP van Nederland er toch enig eerherstel plaats vindt voor deze wedstrijdleider. Ik kan er dit jaar niet bij zijn maar een vlaggetje of een ballon zou toch moeten kunnen. Het was geen menselijke fout, maar een menselijke beslissing.

Het zou toch mooi zijn als op één of andere manier ineens weer iets met Toto te maken krijgt, ik hoop gewoon dat er dan camera's bij zijn.

Vervolgens krijgt hij van zijn baas 0,0 support dan wel verdediging en wordt hij vervangen door de man die DTM ten schande heeft gemaakt door niet direct na de start een code rood te zwaaien.

Ondertussen kan de man zijn socialmedia niet meer openen om even te kijken hoe t met zn familie is omdat die overspoeld wordt door berichten met dreigementen en weet ik t allemaal. De FIA ook hierin, heeft hun werknemer laten verdrinken.

Ik hoop niet dat iemand anders hier eenzelfde situatie mee hoeft te maken met zijn werkgever.

  Hoezo controversieel? Verstappen won toch gewoon de GP en dat had hij in 2021 al vaker gedaan. Geen idee waar de schrijvert het over heeft...

Voordat Masi ook maar iets nieuws gaat doen, wel eerst even aan ome Toto, Lewis en de Lewis-fanboys brigade toestemming vragen. Het zijn immers deze mensen die over zijn carrière gaan.
