Verstappen strijdvaardig: "Hopelijk kunnen we snel een paar auto's inhalen"

Max Verstappen begint de Belgische Grand Prix straks vanaf de veertiende startplek. De Nederlander noteerde gisteren de snelste tijd in de kwalificatie maar moest ver naar achteren vanwege een forse motorstraf. Verstappen zou in eerste instantie als vijftiende starten maar door een motorwissel van Yuki Tsunoda schuift hij een plekje op.

Het is de verwachting dat Verstappen ondanks zijn mindere startplaats kan gaan meestrijden voor de zege op het circuit van Spa-Francorchamps. De Red Bull presteert dit weekend waanzinnig sterk en de concurrentie moet veel tijd toegeven. Tijdens de build-up klonk Verstappen strijdvaardig: "We hebben een heel goede auto. Hopelijk kunnen we snel een aantal auto's te pakken krijgen."

Een dag eerder was Verstappen ook al zeer tevreden met zijn prestaties. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur prees zijn materiaal tijdens de persconferentie voor de top drie: "De auto is al het gehele weekend heel goed. Dit is natuurlijk een heel erg fijne start. Je past wat dingetjes aan, zelfs voor de kwalificatie, en ik denk dat dit zelfs beter werkte. Ik ben heel tevreden. Natuurlijk weet je niet wat de marge is maar de auto voelt al het gehele weekend goed aan."

dat kan max zeker ik zie hem al na 1 rondje 5 man passeren na 2 rondje staat hij al op p5 na 20 rondje neemt hij de koppositie over en geeft hij het niet meer af.
