Verstappen kijkt uit naar thuisrace: "Het wordt moeilijker om dominant te zijn"

Morgen begint het Nederlandse Grand Prix-weekend. De tribunes op het circuit van Zandvoort zijn uitverkocht en de vele duizenden fans zullen allemaal hun handen stuk klappen voor maar één man: Max Verstappen. De Nederlander heeft het momentum stevig in handen en gaat ruim aan de leiding in het wereldkampioenschap. Verstappen zelf kijkt reikhalzend uit naar zijn thuisrace.

Verstappen liet afgelopen weekend in België zijn snelheid zien. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur moest de race vanaf de veertiende plaats starten na een motorstraf. Verstappen reed een sterke inhaalrace en greep al snel de koppositie. Hij won de race met een enorme voorsprong op de nummer twee. Hij breidde zijn voorsprong in het wereldkampioenschap uit en is hard op weg naar zijn tweede titel.

Downforce

Aankomend weekend wil Verstappen zijn voorsprong in het wereldkampioenschap uitbreiden. De Nederlander is duidelijk in zijn vooruitblik op Verstappen.com: "Na het succesvolle weekend in Spa kijk ik enorm uit naar de Dutch Grand Prix. In Zandvoort heb je veel meer downforce nodig. Het wordt dus moeilijker om dominant te zijn. Ook verwacht ik dat Ferrari weer sterk zal zijn."

Risico's

Verstappen schreef vorig jaar zijn thuisrace op zijn naam en men hoopt dit jaar wederom op successen. De Nederlander geeft aan dat hij niet teveel risico gaat nemen: "Natuurlijk wil ik een goed resultaat behalen. Het is echter belangrijk om altijd punten te scoren. Laten we hopen dat we goed weten te presteren. Het is geweldig dat mijn familie er straks bij is om mij te steunen. Ik ga gewoon van het weekend met alle fans genieten. Het wordt vast waanzinnig."

Zag net iets leuks op het Ver forum. Iemand vond op zolder de oude vlag van Jos terug. Hij wordt dit weekend opgehangen recht tegenover de pitbox van Max en Jos en Max gaan er samen mee op de foto en zetten er hun handtekening op. Wasgetekend @Bartus.
