Ricciardo kijkt uit naar Nederlandse Grand Prix: "Fantastisch circuit!"

Aankomend weekend staat de Nederlandse Grand Prix op het programma en veel fans kijken er reikhalzend naar uit. Niet alleen de fans hebben er zin in, ook veel coureurs kijken uit naar de race op het circuit van Zandvoort. De in Nederland nog altijd populaire Daniel Ricciardo heeft er ook zin in.

De Australiër is bezig met een lastig seizoen in de Formule 1. Ricciardo vertrekt na dit seizoen bij het team van McLaren. De Britse renstal maakte vorige week bekend dat Ricciardo's contract na dit seizoen wordt ontbonden. Het is nog maar de vraag waar Ricciardo aankomend seizoen zal rijden, de Australiër heeft in ieder geval aangegeven dat hij in de Formule 1 wil blijven.

Tarzanbocht

Dit weekend wil Ricciardo zich vooral focussen op de Nederlandse Grand Prix. De McLaren-coureur heeft er zin in en spreekt zich positief uit in een persbericht van zijn team: "Ik kijk uit naar Zandvoort. Het is een fantastisch circuit en het is heel erg leuk. Het was een soort festivalsfeer en dat geeft je een goed gevoel voor het weekend. Het is een old school-circuit met interessante bochten zoals de Tarzanbocht. Ik heb er zin in en ik ben benieuwd hoe verschillend het zal zijn in de nieuwe auto's."

Stroopwafels

Ricciardo is al eventjes in Nederland en geniet met volle teugen. Hij voelt zich op zijn plaats en wil in Zandvoort de aanval openen op de concurrentie: "Ik heb de afgelopen dagen doorgebracht in Zandvoort om tot rust te komen en ik heb veel stroopwafels gegeten. Afgelopen weekend ging het niet zoals we willen maar we zullen zeker terugslaan. We hebben een paar goede lessen geleerd in Spa en dat kan bruikbaar zijn voor dit weekend. Hopelijk komen we beter voor de dag en kunnen we strijden met de Alpines."

Zeker, het zijn echte wereldburgers die F1 coureurs. Maar van alle plekken op deze hele aardkloot staat Zandvoort toch wel met stip op nummer 1 van plekken waar ze graag vertoeven. De decadentie, zien en gezien worden, parelwitte tropische stranden, stroopwafels, noem maar op!

  Absoluut. Als f1 celebrity wel je wel bij de Zandvoortse febo gezien worden voor zo'n niet te versmaden bitterbal, baden in luxe noemen ze dat. Dan pas tel je mee.

Vorige week is volgens mij iedereen er wel aan voorbij gegaan en ging alle aandacht naar Max, maar wat een prut race heeft McLaren toen gereden!? Vooral Norris had een dramatische race. Ik heb eigenlijk gemist waardoor het zo een drama was. Norris had zich namelijk prima gekwalificeerd

Hij kan nog wel lachen want gisteren was hij in de Ziggo strandbar te gast bij Plooy, net als KMag overigens die een ontmoeting had met vriend Renger vd Zande.
