Perez ontevreden: "Dit was geen goede dag"

Sergio Perez kende vandaag een zeer teleurstellende vrijdag in Zandvoort. De Mexicaanse Red Bull Racing-coureur had het in allebei de vrije trainingen zeer lastig. In de eerste vrije training noteerde Perez de zevende tijd en in de tweede vrije training kwam hij niet verder dan de twaalfde plaats.

Perez zag dat zijn teamgenoot Max Verstappen het ook lastig had in de twee vrije trainingen. De Nederlandse WK-leider viel in de eerste vrije training stil met met versnellingsbakproblemen. In de tweede vrije training noteerde Verstappen slechts de achtste tijd. De tegenvallende resultaten zorgen ervoor dat Perez niet al te veel vertrouwen heeft voor de kwalificatie van morgen.

Geen goede dag

Na afloop van de tweede vrije training keek Perez terug op zijn dag in de Noord-Hollandse duinen. De resultaten waren niet geheel naar wens en het was overduidelijk dat de Mexicaanse coureur niet geheel tevreden was. Tegenover de internationale media sprak hij zich uit: "Dit was geen goede dag. We zijn nu aan het kijken hoe we ervoor kunnen zorgen dat we de auto sneller kunnen krijgen."

Concurrentie

Perez zag dat de concurrentie van Mercedes en Ferrari in Zandvoort zeer snel was. De situatie is compleet verschillend vergeleken met de Belgische Grand Prix van vorige week. In Spa was Red Bull immers dominant en nu is alles anders. Perez is er duidelijk over: "Het lijkt erop dat Mercedes en Ferrari hier heel erg sterk zijn. Dit is een enorm uitdagend circuit. In geen van de sectoren zijn we snel. We moeten het dus goed gaan analyseren."

  Vandaag zelf op de grandstand arena gezeten. Goed kunnen kijken maar perez zag er ook niet goed uit. Snijd de bochten te hard of te slap aan, straalt weinig vertrouwen van af. Max zag er heel veel sterker uit in fp2

  Nee zo werkt het niet @Felipe, alleen voor Max was het 'pas vrijdag'.
  En voor Mercedes uiteraard, anders zou ik te positief zijn over de Benzjes...

Perez is gewoon een middelmatige coureur,niks meer en niks minder.
Als Max een rondje aanzet is het bijna altijd direct P1, bij Perez duurt dat meestal een rondje of 10.

Dat jij niet snel bent in geen van de sectoren Perez komt omdat jou Redbull niet voor jou maar voor Max is ontworpen volgens enkele kenners hier. Nu ff serieus, de prestatie van Perez is niet goed, meer tracktime dan Max maar er nog achter qua rondetijd. Moet beter.
