Krack verwacht veel van Stroll: "Fernando kent de kwaliteiten van Lance"

Het team van Aston Martin heeft voor volgend seizoen weer een vette vis binnengehaald. Tijdens de zomerstop maakte men bekend dat Fernando Alonso in 2023 de opvolger wordt van de afzwaaiende Sebastian Vettel. Men verwacht dat Alonso de absolute kopman gaat worden maar bij Aston Martin vertrouwt men ook op Lance Stroll.

De Canadese coureur wordt door velen gezien als één van de zwakste coureurs van het Formule 1-veld. Stroll kent niet bepaald een sterk seizoen en maakte ook in de voorgaande jaren geen ijzersterke indruk. Aangezien Strolls vader de eigenaar is van Aston Martin wordt zijn stoeltje door de buitenwacht gezien als een soort vriendendienstje van zijn vader Lawrence.

Verbazen

Bij Aston Martin denkt men daar echter anders over. Teambaas Mike Krack is bijvoorbeeld zijn lovend over zijn Canadese coureur. In gesprek met de media-afdeling van de Formule 1 spreekt Krack zich uit: "Toen Sebastian bij ons kwam rijden zei iedereen dat Lance geen kans maakte. Maar hij deed het zeer goed tegenover een viervoudig wereldkampioen. Mensen zeggen nu hetzelfde nu Fernando komt. Maar laten we het afwachten, misschien gaat Lance ze verbazen."

Onderschatting

Krack weet niet hoe Alonso denkt over zijn aankomende teamgenoot. De teambaas van Aston Martin denkt dat het allemaal wel goed zal komen: "Ik weet niet of Fernando Lance onderschat. Hij is in ieder geval niet bang om de strijd aan te gaan in dezelfde auto, er is wel wederzijds respect. Ze kennen elkaar al jarenlang en ze hebben tegen elkaar geracet. Fernando kent de kwaliteiten van Lance, er is echt onderling respect."

Lance was natuurlijk geen partij voor Seb, maar wist toch nogal eens 'n keertje te verrassen.
Hetzelfde gaat volgend jaar gebeuren tegenover Fernando.

  fernando is geen partij voor lance. de grootste kwaliteit van lance is zijn vader die kan hij nooit verslaan.

  Dat Stroll soms maar in de buurt van Vettel kan komen zegt alles over wat een kut hok die Aston Martin moet zijn. Gevalletje zo slecht dat ie makkelijk op de limiet te rijden is.
