Het is algemeen bekend dat Daniel Ricciardo zich op zijn gemak voelt in de Verenigde Staten. De Australische McLaren-coureur heeft altijd iets in speciaals in petto tijdens Amerikaanse Grand Prix-weekenden. Aangezien dit weekend de Amerikaanse Grand Prix in Austin op het programma staat bedacht Ricciardo weer iets origineels.

Gisteren arriveerde hij dan ook in stijl voorafgaand de persdag op het Circuit of the Americas. Ricciardo koos in Texas namelijk voor een entree in de stijl van de cowboys. Gehuld in een cowboypakje inclusief hoed arriveerde hij in de paddock. Ricciardo liep echter niet, hij zat als een echte cowboy op een paard. Het beest had voor de gelegenheid een paddockpas gekregen en Ricciardo vermaakte zich optimaal.
