Perez ontvangt gridstraf na ICE-wissel

Ook dit weekend zullen de rekenmachines van de FIA overuren draaien, meerdere coureurs ontvangen namelijk weer gridstraffen. Ook het team van Red Bull Racing kiest in het weekend waar ze constructeurskampioen kunnen worden voor een gridstraf. Sergio Perez ontvangt namelijk een nieuw motorcomponent.

Tijdens de eerste vrije training op het Circuit of the Americas werd namelijk bekend dat Perez dit weekend de beschikking krijgt over een nieuwe ICE. Het is de vijfde Internal Combustion Unit voor Perez in dit seizoen en dus ontvangt hij een gridstraf van vijf plaatsen voor de race van zondag. Het is de verwachting dat er later in het weekend nog meer gridstraffen zullen volgen, onder andere de Ferrari 's zouden naar verluid een motor kunnen gaan wisselen.
