Perez verwacht zware strijd in Mexicaanse kwalificatie

Het is de verwachting dat er later vanavond een zeer spannende kwalificatie op het programma staat. In de eerste vrije training op de vrijdag was het zeer close tussen Red Bull Racing, Ferrari en Mercedes. Ook Sergio Perez bereidt zich voor op een zeer spannende strijd.

Perez is gebrand op een goed resultaat voor de ogen van zijn thuispubliek. De Mexicaanse Red Bull Racing-coureur wil presteren op de sfeervolle Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. In de kwalificatie wil hij zijn eerste slag slaan, hij is echter zeker niet de enige die dat plannetje heeft. De kans is immers groot dat het een strijd gaat worden tussen de verschillende teams.

Perez keek terug op een zeer goede vrijdag waarin hij in de eerste twee vrije trainingen maar weinig foutjes maakte. De Mexicaan moest net als de andere coureurs de bandentest in de tweede vrije training doorstaan. Tegenover de internationale media spreekt hij zich uit: "Dor de bandentest verspil je in principe de tweede vrije training. Dat geldt voor iedereen. In de eerste training hadden we een aardig tempo en zagen we er competitief uit. Ferrari ziet er sterk uit, net als Mercedes. Het wordt dus een zware strijd in de kwalificatie."
