Perez voelt zich sterk: "Ik wil dat doorzetten in de laatste twee races"

Sergio Perez is bezig met één van de sterkste seizoenen uit zijn Formule 1-loopbaan. De Mexicaanse Red Bull Racing-coureur duelleert met Charles Leclerc om de tweede plaats in het wereldkampioenschap. Perez voelt zich zeer sterk en wil volgend seizoen nog beter voor de dag komen.

Perez kon in de beginfase van het seizoen zijn teamgenoot Max Verstappen goed bijhouden. Na zijn zege in Monaco werd de Mexicaan zelfs eventjes gezien als een titelkandidaat. Al snel bleek echter dat dit te hoog gegrepen was en kroonde Verstappen zich al in Japan tot wereldkampioen. Perez won ook nog de Grand Prix van Singapore en kan dus nog tweede worden in het wereldkampioenschap.

Perez strijdt met Ferrari-coureur Charles Leclerc om die tweede plaats in het wereldkampioenschap. Tijdens de gebruikelijke persconferentie werd Perez gevraagd of hij bezig is met zijn best seizoen uit zijn loopbaan: "Ik ben er constant mee bezig. Ik denk dat het ook afhangt van hoe comfortabel ik mij voel met de auto, zoals aan het begin van het seizoen. Ik voel me nu ongeveer op mijn best. Ik wil dat doorzetten in de laatste twee races en ik wil het volgende seizoen starten met een hoogtepunt."
