Horner verwacht veel van Perez en Verstappen in de sprint

Het team van Red Bull Racing kende gisteren een redelijke kwalificatie in Brazilië. In de sprint van vandaag start Max Verstappen op de tweede plaats terwijl Sergio Perez genoegen moet nemen met de negende plaats. Teambaas Christian Horner heeft hoge verwachtingen van de sprint van later vanmiddag.

Red Bull leek de gedoodverfde favoriet voor de pole position op het circuit van Interlagos. Max Verstappen werd echter verslagen door de verrassende Kevin Magnussen. De Deense Haas-coureur profiteerde van de rode vlag en van de daaropvolgende regenval. Desalniettemin was men bij Red Bull zeer tevreden en zijn de verwachtingen van de Oostenrijkse renstal zeer hoog.

Teambaas Christian Horner denkt dat er veel meer in zat. De Britse teambaas was wel tevreden met het resultaat en hij werd na afloop geciteerd door Verstappen.com: "Helaas kostte een klein foutje van Max in bocht acht wat tijd. Toch is een plaats op de eerste startrij zeer positief voor de sprint. Checo had wat pech omdat Charles bezig was op een setje inters en ik denk dat hij ook dacht dat Charles naar binnen zou komen. Hij bleef echter buiten. Dat bracht de ronde van Checo in gevaar maar ik weet zeker dat hij vanaf P9 een goede race kan hebben."

Eigenlijk allebei ondermaats natuurlijk. Die RB zet iedereen op pole. Als je dat niet doet ben je niet f1 waardig.
