Verstappen genoot van Honda Thanks Day: "Geweldige dag!"

Max Verstappen kwam afgelopen weekend weer in actie met Formule 1-materiaal. Op het circuit van Motegi in Japan reed Verstappen een aantal demorondjes tijdens de Honda Racing Thanks Day. Verstappen genoot van het event en van de wagens waarin hij mocht rijden in Japan.

Verstappen reisde samen met zijn Red Bull Racing-teamgenoot en AlphaTauri-coureurs Yuki Tsunoda en Pierre Gasly af naar Motegi. Tijdens het feestje van Red Bulls voormalig motorleverancier Honda reed Verstappen rondjes in een Red Bull in de kleuren waarmee men vorig seizoen in Turkije reed. Tevens kroop Verstappen achter het stuur van een Honda uit de Super GT-klasse.

Geweldige dag

Na afloop keek Verstappen met een goed gevoel terug op zijn avontuur op het circuit van Motegi. De Nederlandse tweevoudig wereldkampioen sprak zich uit bij Verstappen.com: "Het is een geweldige dag en ik ben blij dat ik hier mocht zijn. Het is geweldig om hier vandaag zoveel fans te zien om deze dag samen met de coureurs te kunnen vieren. Ik wil Honda dan ook enorm bedanken voor het organiseren van deze dag."

Super GT

Verstappen kwam op de zaterdag voor het eerst in actie op het circuit van Motegi. De Nederlander maakte daarmee zijn debuut op de Japanse omloop en daar genoot hij van: "Ik heb op de simulator een paar keer op Motegi gereden. Zaterdag was het voor het eerst in het echt! Het is echt een mooie baan. Ik heb de MotoGP hier zien rijden maar ik kon zaterdag zelf rijden in de Super GT-auto, dat was echt een geweldige ervaring. Het is een gave auto met zeer goede remmen. Het vermogen ten opzichte van het gewicht is geweldig. Dat bracht een grote glimlach op mijn gezicht."

  In between practice runs at a rain-soaked Motegi on Saturday, Honda revealed that Verstappen found time to sample Honda's #99 NSX-GT development car, which was not sporting 2022-spec 'Type S' bodywork.
  The Dutchman was also pictured in conversation with two-time SUPER GT champion Naoki Yamamoto.

  Naoki Yamamoto is idd een stuk kleiner en ieler dan de Japanner waar Max hier mee staat te praten. Zijn naam stond echter vermeld onder de desbetreffende foto. Zal wel een foutje zijn.

  @pietje, i know. F1fan klaagde gisteren dat er een artikel was dat Max 0 mm reed. Nu een voertuig (met gave remschijven) waar Max wel mee reed
