Domenicali zwijgt over Binotto-exit: "Belangrijk dat er een competitief team is"

Eerder deze week werd de Formule 1-wereld kortstondig wakker geschud uit zijn winterslaap. Het team van Ferrari maakte namelijk bekend dat teambaas Mattia Binotto het team gaat verlaten. Huidig Formule 1-CEO en voormalig Ferrari-teambaas Stefano Domenicali wil er niet teveel over zeggen.

Binotto's vertrek werd vorige week al aangekondigd in de Italiaanse media. De Italiaan zou weinig vertrouwen voelen vanuit de leiding van Ferrari en zou daarom zijn ontslag hebben ingediend. Uit het persbericht van Ferrari bleek dat Binotto zelf wilde vertrekken, over een gebrek aan vertrouwen wordt echter niets gezegd. Binotto ontvangt veel mooie woorden maar een enkeling blijft zwijgen.

Niets zeggen

Huidig Formule 1-CEO Stefano Domenicali werkte in zijn tijd bij Ferrari samen met Binotto. De Italiaanse CEO wil echter niets zeggen over de zaak. Bij Marca houdt hij zijn kaken stijf op elkaar: "Vanwege mijn positie kan ik niets zeggen. Ik kan Mattia alleen maar geluk wensen voor de toekomst en ik hoop dat Ferrari iemand kan vinden die verder kan gaan op dit pad dat ze dit jaar insloegen. Het pad dat ze heeft gebracht naar de tweede plaats in het wereldkampioenschap."

Competitief

Domenicali hoopt wel dat Ferrari een nieuwe teambaas kan vinden die voor de nodige stabiliteit kan gaan zorgen. De Italiaan wil dit echter alleen maar met het oog op de concurrentiestrijd in de Formule 1. Domenicali is daar nogal duidelijk over: "Op dit moment is het voor de Formule 1 belangrijk dat we een competitief team hebben. Dat is dan natuurlijk ook wat wij voor hen wensen."

Wensen? Zou het niet moeten zijn dat is wat wij gaan leveren. Iets met hoe kijk je tegen zaken aan en hoe serieus neem je je eigen team.

Neem Mercedes ook al is dit niet mijn team, echter als je kijkt waar ze begin dit jaar stonden en hoe zij zich hebben opgesteld laat veerkracht zien en mentaliteit.

  Domenicale is geen lid van Ferrari, hij kan alleen maar wensen dat ze competitief zijn toch? Hij heeft niks te leveren.

  Ik vrees dat Ferrari zijn eigen deuren heeft ingeslagen door elders te zoeken. Nu komen ze 2x van een kale reis thuis...

  Het was nog vroeg. Ik was in de overtuiging dat hij nog werkzaam was voor Ferrari. :P Dan heb ik niks gezegd.
