Brundle kritisch op Binotto-exit: "Je werkt voor een heel land, niet alleen een team"

Eerder deze week werd de Formule 1-wereld even wakker uit zijn winterslaap. Ferrari maakte namelijk bekend dat teambaas Mattia Binotto het team gaat verlaten, het nieuws hing al geruime tijd in de lucht. Martin Brundle vindt het vertrek van Binotto redelijk vreemd.

Binotto kende met Ferrari een zeer wisselvallig seizoen. De iconische Italiaanse renstal begon sterk aan het seizoen waarna de klad er steeds meer in kwam. Binotto zelf kreeg ook veel kritiek en de Italiaanse media meldden zelfs dat hij geen vertrouwen meer zou voelen vanuit de Ferrari-top. Volgens deze berichten zou dit dan ook de reden zijn van het vertrek van de bekende teambaas.

Voormalig Formule 1-coureur en huidig Sky Sports-commentator Martin Brundle heeft een duidelijke mening over de veelbesproken zaak. Tijdens de  Guild of Motoring Writers’ Annual Awards sprak Brundle zich uit: "Bij Ferrari ben je werkzaam voor een land en niet alleen voor een team. Ze zijn hun Chief Technical Officer en hun teambaas kwijt. Het is eigenlijk allemaal een beetje gek tenzij ze een heel erg goede vervanger hebben klaarstaan die direct kan inspringen. Dit soort dingen horen echter bij dit team."

Ik zou op m'n 53ste toch gaan rentenieren, denk ik. Een dozijn appartementen kopen en naar 't zuiden verhuizen. Elke dag recreatief sporten, lekker eten en genieten van de zon (en de mooie Italiaanse gleufdiertjes ;) ) ... Schiet mij maar lek!!

    Binotto werkt voor Ferrari waar een heel land trots op is. Dat is iets anders dan dat ie voor een heel land werkt. Hoop dat Binotto een mooie baan gaat vinden bij de motoren afdeling van Audi.

      Je zou zeggen dat je op je 53e iets verder kijkt dan het vrouwelijk geslachtsorgaan maar kennelijk is dat niet zo bij iedereen.

      Zoals bij racistische denkbeelden zouden dit soort seksistische uitingen wat mij betreft mogen worden gewitkwast.
