Rosberg ziet Verstappen als één van de beste ooit: "Hij maakt geen fouten meer"

Max Verstappen maakte ook dit jaar weer veel indruk in de Formule 1. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur prolongeerde met grote overmacht zijn wereldtitel en hij verbrak daarnaast meerdere records. Nico Rosberg denkt dan ook dat Verstappen bij de beste coureurs ooit uit de Formule 1 hoort.

Verstappen domineerde dit seizoen in de Formule 1. De Nederlander begon met de nodige moeite aan het seizoen en hij viel in twee van de eerste drie Grands Prix uit. Daarna loste Red Bull de problemen op en Verstappen maakte op zijn beurt geen enkele fout. De Nederlander won in 2022 in totaal vijftien Grands Prix en toonde zich zeer dominant.

Enorm talent

Enkelvoudig wereldkampioen Nico Rosberg is onder de indruk van de prestaties van Verstappen. De Duitse oud-coureur deelt zijn complimenten uit in gesprek met La Gazzetta Dello Sport en hij ziet Verstappen als één van de beste ooit: "Dat zeker. Hij heeft twee wereldtitels gewonnen en op zijn 25ste heeft hij al meer zeges dan Fernando Alonso. Hij beschikt over een enorm talent en hij is nu compleet."

Vechtersmentaliteit

Rosberg, die in 2016 wereldkampioen werd ten koste van Lewis Hamilton, ziet dat Verstappen met zijn prestaties niet meer onder doet voor de grootste ooit. Rosberg: "Hij heeft dezelfde vechtersmentaliteit als Michael Schumacher en Ayrton Senna. Hij maakt daarnaast ook geen fouten meer. Geen enkele teamgenoot is in staat geweest om hem bij te houden. We hebben het dan over Pierre Gasly en Sergio Perez, dat zijn niet bepaald slechte coureurs. Ik moet zeggen dat Verstappen mij dit jaar versteld heeft doen staan."

Geen fouten is dus niet waar, al zijn het geen fouten met grote gevolgen.
Helemaal foutloos is zelfs onze Max niet en dat geeft ook helemaal niet, iedereen kan en mag fouten maken.

  Dat waren geen fouten, he was pushed off the track net als Grossjan een paar jaar geleden in Baku. Over de "fout" in Brazilië 2016 die hij mooi corrigeerde roept iedereen wat een auto controle en nu is die ook het geval. Als je een kleinigheid corrigeert is het niet meer fout. Leclerc en Sainz die maakte fouten.

  Frustratie is geen enkele coureur vreemd. Topsporters staan vaak onder immense druk en dat heeft zo z'n weerslag. Ik stoor mij er in ieder geval niet aan.

Max is zeker 1 van de besten ooit,.
Maar foutloos is niemand. In een machtige auto die op rails rijdt hoef je niet de grenzen op te zoeken en maak je dus minder fouten.
