Verstappen grapt na 'vlammende' demo: "Probeerde asfalt te drogen"

Max Verstappen vierde bij de Red Bull-fabriek in Milton Keynes de successen van afgelopen seizoen tijdens de Red Bull Racing Home Run. De tweevoudig wereldkampioen trakteerde samen met teamgenoot Sergio Pérez en andere prominenten uit de Red Bull-familie een serie demo's voor de toegestroomde fans. Verstappen zette de RB7, de kampioensauto van 2011 met V8-motor, letterlijk in vuur en vlam na het demonstreren van vele donuts en burn-outs.

Na het uitstappen uit de bolide blikte de wereldkampioen terug op deze dag en afgelopen tijd. "Het zijn drukke weken aan het einde van het jaar, maar het is prachtig dat we dit hier in Milton Keynes kunnen doen. Ik waardeer het dat er zoveel mensen hier naartoe gekomen zijn om ons aan te moedigen en het is mooi dat iedereen het hier naar zijn zin heeft, dat is het belangrijkste. Het was natuurlijk erg koud en glad en ik probeerde het asfalt te drogen met de vlammen die uit de auto kwamen", grapte Verstappen.

Dat de show vlakbij de eigen fabriek van Red Bull Racing werd gehouden, maakte het volgens Verstappen extra speciaal: “Milton Keynes is Red Bull en Red Bull is Milton Keynes. Ik maakt al lange tijd deel uit van de Red Bull-familie en voor mij voelt Milton Keynes als een tweede thuis. Op alle teamleden ligt veel druk om te presteren, maar ze verdienen ook alle lof voor onze geweldige prestaties en ik ben dan ook blij dat ik deel uit maak van dit prachtige team."

Een vooruitblik op 2023 kan Verstappen even niet aan denken, want de Nederlander is toe aan vakantie. "Daar zal ik vanaf 1 januari aan gaan denken. Eerst heb ik een kleine pauze nodig”, zegt hij. “Maar, natuurlijk kijken we erg uit naar volgend jaar. We weten dat we het nog beter kunnen doen en we zijn nu al enthousiast over de auto van volgend jaar."

Leuk weetje. Max mocht op het FIA Gala de WK Karten trofee aan de Braziliaanse
Matheus Morgatto uitreiken.
Hier vertelde Max dat hij hem gevolgd had en de wedstrijd had gezien dat hij WK werd.
Daar was hij enorm trots op.

19 sept 2022.
Op het circuit van Sarno kroonde Matheus Morgatto (OK) zich na mooie finales
tot wereldkampioen.
Niemand kon Morgatto nog bedreigen voor de zege en zo is de eerste Braziliaanse
wereldtitel sinds 24 jaar, een feit.

Van Kelly's IG. Nadat ze in Mexico, Brazilië en Abu Dhabi ziek was, naar eigen zeggen van alle stress, maar gelukkig afgelopen week haar 34ste verjaardag 5 dagenlang heeft kunnen vieren, ging het op de laatste dag in Londen mis tijdens haar verblijf
in het Four Season Hotel ! in Londen.
Daar werd ze weer ziek, maar volgens haar IG post heeft ze één van de beste visagistes ter wereld in Bologna laten komen, zodat we er niets van hebben kunnen merken.
Toch fijn om te lezen dat ze iig "Emotional support (van haar vriendin)
@yasmindevonport" heeft gehad.
Geld maakt niet gelukkig, maar het is maar wat gemakkelijk als je het hebt.
Ik kruip gewoon in bed als ik ziek ben. Maar hopen dat ze snel weer opknapt dan.
