Karthikeyan: "Mijn stoel voor Grand Prix in India niet in gevaar"

Narain Karthikeyan zal over enkele Grands Prix weer plaatsnemen in de HRT-bolide. Tijdens het weekend in India zal de Indiase coureur zijn 'oude' plaats weer overnemen van Daniel Ricciardo. De Australiër is sinds de race in Silverstone de vervanger van Karthikeyan, maar volgens hem is zijn stoeltje voor zijn eerste thuisrace nooit in gevaar geweest.

"Er hebben nooit vraagtekens gestaan bij mijn stoeltje voor de Grand Prix van India", vertelde Karthikeyan. "Ik zou graag nog één of twee races rijden als opwarmer, maar het is sowieso al een droom die werkelijkheid gaat worden. Ik kreeg al kriebels toen ik het circuit zag. Er staat daar een geweldig complex en het zal fantastisch worden."

Verder denkt Karthikeyan dat de eerste Grand Prix in India een groot succes gaat worden. "Er zijn veel mensen in India die cricket spelen, dus ze willen ook wel eens wat anders. Deze Grand Prix van India kan de autosport in ons land net zo doen groeien als in China en Maleisië is gebeurd."
