Horner kijkt uit naar samenwerking met Vasseur: "Wordt interessant om te zien"

Het team van Ferrari staat aan de vooravond van een seizoen vol veranderingen. De grootste verandering binnen de Italiaanse renstal is de komst van de nieuwe teambaas Frédéric Vasseur. Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner is vooral benieuwd hoe de samenwerking met de Franse teambaas zal zijn en wat er veranderd is.

Vasseur was in de afgelopen jaren de teambaas van het team van Alfa Romeo. De Fransman maakte daar indruk en heeft als voordeel dat hij bij de Zwitserse renstal al heeft samengewerkt met Charles Leclerc. Vasseur is bij Ferrari de opvolger van de vertrokken Mattia Binotto en moet dus voor een frisse wind bij het team gaan zorgen.

Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner heeft de ontwikkelingen bij de concurrerende renstal op de voet gevolgd. De Brit leeft daarnaast ook mee met de vertrokken Binotto. In gesprek met Motorsport Magazine spreekt hij zich uit: "Ik voel mee met Mattia want hij heeft het eigenlijk best goed gedaan vorig jaar. Ferrari heeft een grote stap gezet ten opzichte van het seizoen daarvoor. Het moet zwaar voor hem zijn na zo'n lange periode waarin hij veel heeft gegeven voor Ferrari."

Vergaderingen

Horner kent Binotto's opvolger Vasseur al wat langer en hij vraagt zich dan ook af of de Fransman zich nu anders gaat gedragen. De Britse teambaas van Red Bull kijkt dan ook uit naar de eerste aanstaande vergadering van de F1 Commission: "Het wordt wel interessant om dat te zien. Het wordt interessant om te zien of Fred tijdens de vergaderingen nog steeds dwars ligt op dezelfde punten als toen hij nog de teambaas was van Alfa Romeo. Maar, hij is wel heel erg capabel. Het wordt dus interessant om te zien."
