Bottas gaat on-track demonstraties tijdens motorsportfestival in Adelaide geven

Formule 1-coureur én inmiddels bijna-Australiër Valtteri Bottas zal een week eerder naar ‘Down Under’ dan zijn collega’s gaan afreizen. Een week voordat de Grand Prix van Australië op het Melbourne Park verreden zal worden, is de Finse autosporter namelijk op het motorsportfestival in Adelaide te vinden, waar hij verschillende demonstraties zal gaan verrichten.

Via social media kondigde Valtteri Bottas aan dat hij het Adelaide motorsportfestival zal gaan bezoeken. In het korte filmpje kondigt de Fin aan dat hij in ieder geval achter het stuur van een Alfa Romeo-bolide zal gaan verschijnen. Het is nog niet zeker of dit mogelijk een Formule 1-auto zal zijn, of dat Bottas alleen in een klassieke Alfa GTV Group A Touring Car zal gaan rijden. Ook meent de Formule 1-coureur dat hij hoopt in een Australische V8 Supercar te gaan zitten.

Het racefestijn, waarbij er zeer veel verschillende legendarische racewagens gebruikt gaan worden, zal naast Alfa Romeo-coureur Bottas ook voormalig Formule 1-coureur Stefan Johansson op de baan zien verschijnen. De Zweedse coureur, die in de jaren ’80 binnen de koningsklasse actief was, zal terug achter het stuur van de Scuderia Ferrari 156/85 gaan verschijnen, waarmee hij in 1985 in de Grand Prix van Adelaide wist deel te nemen.

Vooral gedurende het afgelopen jaar werd snel duidelijk dat Bottas zich meer en meer Australiër voelt. De topsporter heeft niet alleen Australische professioneel wielrenster Tiffanny Cromwell aan zijn zijde, maar is tegenwoordig nu geregeld in het Land Down Under te vinden. In de video is ook al duidelijk dat Bottas de typische Australische 'G’day'-begroeting inmiddels al redelijk onder de knie heeft.

Het Adelaide Motorsportfestival zal op 25 en 26 maart op Victoria Park plaatsvinden.

Sinds de actievoerders de baan in Silverstone betraden zit ik helemaal niet meer te wachten op demonstraties tijdens race events.
Zelfs niet als Bottas de demonstratie verzorgt.

Niks leukt een festival meer op dan de vrolijke Bottas met z'n uitgaande sprankelende persoonlijkheid en opgeruimde blije karakter.

Alles beter dan die saaie Australische drol die daar vandaan komt. :P
