Romain Grosjean wil niets overhaasten met Formule 1-contract

Romain Grosjean is sinds gisteren de nieuwe GP2-kampioen en heeft daardoor grote kansen om volgend jaar door te stomen naar de Formule 1. De Fransman maakte in 2009 al een mislukt Formule 1-avontuur mee door als vervanger van Nelsinho Piquet enkele races te rijden.

Grosjean zegt dat hij niks wil overhaasten wat betreft de Formule 1. "Ik wil natuurlijk terugkeren naar de Formule 1, maar mijn hoofddoel is om een goed contract voor 2012 te vinden", vertelde de Fransman. "Hopelijk kan ik een goed stoeltje bemachtigen onder de juiste omstandigheden, zodat ik een échte kans krijg in de Formule 1."

"Het hangt van de omstandigheden af of ik dit jaar al ga racen. Als het alleen voor vijf races is zonder dat er iets achter zit, lijkt het me niet het beste."
