Krack blij met komst Alonso: "Hij neemt veel energie mee"

Het team van Aston Martin is op zeer sterke wijze aan het huidige Formule 1-seizoen begonnen. De Britse renstal is momenteel achter Red Bull Racing het tweede team en profiteert daarnaast van de stuurmanskunsten van Fernando Alonso. Volgens teambaas Mike Krack is Alonso zeer belangrijk voor het team.

Alonso kwam afgelopen winter over van het team van Alpine. De Spaanse tweevoudig wereldkampioen laat ondanks zijn leeftijd zien dat hij het kunstje nog lang niet verleerd is. In zowel Bahrein, Saoedi-Arabië als Australië werd Alonso namelijk als derde geklasseerd. Hij is daardoor samen met Max Verstappen de enige coureur met een honderd procent podiumscore in 2023.

Aston Martin-teambaas Mika Krack is zeer blij met de komst en de diensten van Alonso. Krack weet zeker dat de goede resultaten ook mede worden veroorzaakt door de kennis en kunde van Alonso. In gesprek met de BBC legt Krack dat uit: "Dat is wel iets wat we niet moeten onderschatten. Vanaf de eerste dag nam hij al enorm veel energie en motivatie voor het team met zich mee. Alleen al door hoe hij is en hoe hij dingen benadert. Hij is echt zeer, maar dan ook zeer positief."

    De quote komt uit een lang maar interessant interview met Krack op de BeeBeeCee, met als kop "Fernando Alonso: How the Spaniard helped Aston Martin leap on to the podium places"

    Alonso doet het supergoed, maar de meeste credits moeten toch echt gaan naar de door Stroll Sr aangetrokken engineers (waaronder Dan Fallows, ex hoofd aerodynamica bij het Red Bull-team) en de kopieerafdeling die echt Hammertime werk hebben afgeleverd om de Bull groen te laten lijken.

    Joined @audisport in 2015 and won Blancpain Overall in the same year together with
    @follow_wrt.
    Two years later, also with my Belgian family, we won the Blancpain Sprint Championship and shortly after celebrated winning the 12 Hours of Bathurst.

    Personal highlight was racing for 3 years in DTM with the last Class 1 cars.
    Most special memory: Winning my first @dtm.official race together with
    @abt mo tor sport in front of my home crowd in Assen🇳🇱.

    Closing my Audi journey with winning the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2022 together with @scherer_sport and Phoenix Racing - this definitely was one for the books!

      Moet Senna niet je eerste held zijn? Chronologisch gezien had je hem als eerst "bewust" zien racen.
      Of werd het pas je "held" nadat hij en Verstappen met elkaar vergeleken werden?

      Je moet je leugens eens een keer opschrijven, je kunt ze zelf ook niet helemaal meer bijhouden. Zou zonde zijn als er mensen doorheen prikken.
