Leclerc blijft strijdbaar: "Seizoen duurt nog lang"

Het team van Ferrari is op redelijk teleurstellende wijze aan het huidige Formule 1-seizoen begonnen. De Italiaanse renstal kende de nodige problemen en blijft daarnaast ook ver achter op de concurrentie. Charles Leclerc wil echter nog niet opgeven en wil de vrije maand april gebruiken om beter voor de dag te kunnen komen.

De maand april is door het wegvallen van de Chinese Grand Prix verandert in een soort extra pauze voor de Formule 1. Ferrari wil deze tijd gebruiken om ervoor te zorgen dat ze hun achterstand op de concurrentie goed kunnen maken. In de eerste drie Grands Prix waren immers de teams van Red Bull Racing, Aston Martin en Mercedes veel sneller.

Updates

Ferrari-coureur Charles Leclerc viel in twee van de eerste drie Grands Prix uit. De Monegask wil na de lentepauze sportieve wraak nemen. In gesprek met de media-afdeling van de Formule 1 toont hij zich strijdbaar: "Aangezien we ons als team in deze situatie bevinden, pakken we deze kans aan om zoveel mogelijk werk te verrichten. We willen de updates zo snel mogelijk in kunnen zetten en we willen zo snel mogelijk competitief zijn."

Lang seizoen

Alhoewel de start van het seizoen tegenviel, wil Leclerc nog niet bij de pakken neer gaan zitten. De Monegask heeft veel vertrouwen in de rest van het seizoen. Hij droomt zelfs nog van mogelijke zeges en podiumplaatsen. Hij is zeer strijdbaar: "Het is nog steeds een heel erg lang seizoen. We zijn enorm gemotiveerd om weer terug te keren aan de kop van het veld. We willen deze weken voorafgaand de race in Azerbeidzjan zo goed mogelijk gebruiken."

      Tante Agaath uit Warmetuut is vandaag aanwezig op het "54e Knokke KantKlos Tournament" dat meetelt voor het WK KANTKLOSSEN 2023.
      De sprintkantkloswedstrijd eerder deze middag heeft zij met zoveel overmacht gewonnen dat de hoofdkantkloswedstrijd slechts een formaliteit lijkt te worden.

      De hoofdkantkloswedstrijd begint om 20.15 uur Nederlandse tijd en DJ Ome Joop zal voor de muzikale omlijsting zorgen...

    Leclerc tot nu behoorlijk uit vorm. Toprijder onwaardig aangezien toprijders altijd een meer dan gemiddeld niveau aantikken.
    Hopelijk herpakt Leclerc zich.

    Leclerc’s return over the first three races of 2023 is in stark contrast to 2022, when he racked up two wins and a second-place finish to hold an early championship lead of 34 points – before his and Ferrari’s challenge unraveled.

    Now he sits 10th in the drivers’ standings with just six points courtesy of his seventh-place finish in Saudi Arabia, having suffered a technical failure in Bahrain and retired again in Australia after a clash with Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll.

    “We know the story about last year, and now it’s all about focusing on what we can do better to improve and to come back to their [Red Bull’s] level. We know where we need to work on and now we just need to make it happen,” continued the Monegasque.

    Pushed to highlight the areas that Ferrari need to focus on, Leclerc added: “Honestly, it is just to try and have a more solid car in all the conditions.
    We seem to be quite good in terms of qualifying whenever the peak grip is there, but then whenever we lose a little bit of grip in the race, it starts to be very, very difficult, and we seem to lose quite a lot of performance, so on that we need to work.”

    Leclerc is nog wat grillig, maar dat gaat er wel uit. In 2022 moest hij steeds harder pushen om terug te komen. Imola was onnodig (P3 was ook goed geweest) en Frankrijk ook (Hoe dan?), maar de rest was louter pech.

      Slechte kwali in Australie en domme fout in de race. De race ervoor in Sa was leclerc erg mat.
      Hij moet wel opschieten. Ben best fan van hem, maar grote rijders halen altijd een meer dan gemiddeld niveau. Leclerc doet dit nu niet.

    Als niet goed gaat dan moeten de echte rijders opstaan, dat doet dus Charles niet echt, ik dacht dat hij toch wel beter zou zijn dan dit.
