Marko leeft mee met Wolff: "Ik weet hoe hij zich voelt"

Het team van Mercedes is voor het tweede jaar op rij bezig met een tegenvallend seizoen. De Duitse renstal moet toezien hoe hun grote rivaal Red Bull Racing momenteel zeer dominant is. Bij Red Bull maakt men zich geen zorgen over de tegenvallende prestaties van Mercedes, Helmut Marko kent het gevoel.

Red Bull werd in 2021 met Max Verstappen wereldkampioen en dat was de eerste wereldtitel van het team sinds 2013. Vorig jaar werd de Oostenrijkse renstal wederom wereldkampioen met Verstappen en werd ook de constructeurstitel binnengehaald. Bij Mercedes loopt alles sinds vorig jaar niet bepaald op rolletjes en dat zorgt bij fans van Red Bull voor het nodige leedvermaak.

Bij Red Bull is men vooral bezig met de eigen resultaten. De werknemers van de Oostenrijkse renstal zijn zich bewust van de problemen bij Mercedes, maar men maakt zich er amper druk om. Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko is daar zeer duidelijk over in gesprek met Sport Bild: "Het maakt mij helemaal niets uit wie er op welke positie rond rijdt. Het allerbelangrijkste is dat wij op de eerste plek rijden. Ik weet hoe Toto Wolff zich momenteel voelt, wij hebben ook zeven zware jaren gehad. Daarom is er ook geen leedvermaak."

    Dat zorgt bij fans van Redbull voor leedvermaak.....nou, ik merk daar he-le-maal niets van.
    De sportiviteit alhier is van 'n ongekend niveau in tegenstelling tot sommige andere F1 minnende landen om ons heen.
    Hier zullen we niemand, of andere rijders, tot de grond afbranden of hun teams........ gelukkig niet.

    RBR heeft door de jaren heen een ongeëvenaarde kennis opgebouwd op het gebied van mechanische onderdelen,
    composietmaterialen en aerodynamica. Vroeger kregen ze de motoren gratis en besteedden ze het hele budget alleen aan het chassis, wat krankzinnig is.
    Het was voorspelbaar dat ze opnieuw zouden domineren in een bevriezingsregime van de motor.
    Vanaf 2026 zullen ze blijven domineren als er niks drastisch wijzigt.
