Bij deze drie circuits denkt Alonso een F1-overwinning te kunnen pakken

In het kielzog van een uiterst sterk Red Bull moeten de achtervolgende teams van Aston Martin, Mercedes en Ferrari bij vrijwel elke race in 2023 tot nu toe om de resterende podiumplaats vechten. Aston Martin-coureur Fernando Alonso is zeer tevreden met zijn viermaal behaalde P3-resultaten, maar denkt (en hoopt) dit seizoen ook nog een Grand Prix-overwinning te kunnen behalen. De tweevoudig wereldkampioen noemt drie potentiële circuits waarop hij dit zou kunnen bewerkstelligen.

Omdat Red Bull dit seizoen zo ontzettend sterk is, zien de andere teams weinig kansen om een overwinning voor de neus van de Oostenrijkse renstal weg te graaien. Althans, in ieder geval niet op pure snelheid. De uitzondering is op naam van Fernando Alonso, die voorafgaand de triple-header die begint op circuit Imola dit aankomende weekend, in gesprek is met Sky Sports F1-man Martin Brundle. Hij gelooft nog steeds dat hij in 2023 een Grand Prix-overwinning kan behalen.

Op de brandende vraag van Brundle of Alonso 'een race of twee' dit jaar kan winnen, antwoordt de Spanjaard: "Ja, dat denk ik wel", begint hij. "We hebben een auto die niet de allerbeste op de rechte stukken is. Daar moeten we sterker in worden. Maar we zijn wel heel goed in (circuits met) bochten. Ik denk de circuits waar de langzaamste snelheden over het weekend behaald worden, zoals bijvoorbeeld Monaco, Budapest en Singapore, een kans voor ons zijn. Daar hebben we denk ik de meeste kansen", vertelt Alonso.

Zou zo maar kunnen als je kijkt naar welke auto het beste is in langzame scherpe bochten. Tevens allemaal circuits met nauwelijks hoger snelheidsbochten waar veel downforce veel invloed heeft.

Voor wat betreft Singapore, daar is Alonso áltijd al bijzonder goed geweest. Als je Crashgate in 2008 even buiten beschouwing laat zag je dat Alonso dat jaar sowieso al heel snel was daar.
Zijn overwinning in 2010 was snaar strak, maar ook in 2017 had hij met McLaren wellicht hoge ogen kunnen gooien ware het niet dat hij in ronde 1 de rondtollende botswagens niet meer kon ontwijken.

  In Q1 kwam ie al wel 7 tiende tekort. De Renault was op het einde van het jaar (motorupgrade?) sowieso een stuk competitiever. Denk dat Alonso als (voormalig) topcoureur zeker goed uit de voeten kan in Singapore, maar of ie een verschil kan maken tov bv Verstappen, Leclerc of zelfs Perez moet ik nog zien. Als je de afstelling perfect krijgt en daarmee het vertrouwen hebt kun je als coureur misschien wel een verschil maken idd.

Schat hem zeer hoog op het podium in Barcelona en misschien ook in Monaco
Daarna zal het nog moeilijk worden om nog een podium te scoren gezien de updating Van de rest van het veld

Zijn wel circuits waar je ook aparte vleugels meeneemt. Dus dan kan zomaar de rbr anders zijn in de bochten.

Gaat namelijk om de verhouding na het afstellen.
Rbr heeft nu pakket dat voor de rechte stukken verlies in bochten goed maakt. Ten opzichte van andere.
