Bottas: Alfa Romeo heeft upgradepakket Imola 'hard nodig'

Alfa Romeo-coureur Valtteri Bottas kijkt uit naar het aankomende Grand Prix-weekend op circuit Imola. Volgens de tienvoudig Grand Prix-winnaar introduceert zijn team van Alfa Romeo namelijk een nieuw upgradepakket, dat volgens Bottas uit nieuwe onderdelen zal bestaan die hard nodig zijn om een positie binnen de top tien te kunnen verstevigen.

Het Formule 1-team van Alfa Romeo had bij zowel de Grands Prix van Australië als Miami een aantal updates meegenomen, maar coureur Valtteri Bottas snakt naar meer. De Finse coureur eindigt met zijn C43-bolide namelijk veelal rondom de top tien positie, en hoopt dat de updates bij Imola hem meer puntenscores kunnen genereren.

"Om de een of andere manier waren we in de kwalificatie op de zachte band best goed, maar in de long run (tijdens de race) kon ik niet veel doen”, begint Bottas al terugkijkend op de Grand Prix van Miami. “Na mijn goede start probeerde ik een top tien plek te managen maar dat is uiteindelijk niet gelukt. Het (GP-weekend in Miami) tekent een goed beeld van de auto."

"We hebben die nieuwe onderdelen die in Imola komen hard nodig. Dat zal ons hopelijk sneller maken, zodat we dan een betere kans hebben om voor de top tien te kunnen vechten. We hebben flink wat nieuwe onderdelen klaarliggen, dus daar kijk ik naar uit."
